Let’s Start Here’s appeal isn’t owed to the novelty of Yachty going psych rock. That he clearly did his homework and was inspired to put his own spin on these sounds is the impressive part.

LIL YACHTY – LET’S START HERE / 2023 / QUALITY CONTROL / PSYCH WOCK
7/10
Y’all know this is just my opinion, right?

Seeing all those rapper turned rocker albums at the end made me really appreciate how hard it is to pivot. Glad yachty pulled it off
Trash
this is really gonna be a turning point for artists who feel stuck in a box of a single genre of sound to be like “oh man if LIL YACHTY can do THIS, what are others capable of and, more importantly, what am I capable of?” I hope this lets artists be able to step out of their comfort zone and make a left of center album that they would LOVE to make. I smell a whole rock album coming from uzi soon.
this album is incredible
I tried to listen to this record and I couldn't understand a word
One of the most terrible albums I’ve ever heard tbh.
dont forget Radiohead's Pyramid song interpolation ON REACH THE SUNSHINE
If you want some actual psychedelic music listen to this playlist i’ve made
King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizards – Work this time
ANY Homeshake SONG
Unknown Mortal Orchestra
Hoops – 4 U
Good Morning
Melody’s Echo Chamber
The difficulty in pivoting as a rapper has to do with the lack of talent it takes to actually make rap music compared to other genres like rock, psychedelic music, experimental music. Hence, the musicians he used to help write and produce the album. For me this album was below average and like. 4/10. Structurally the songs are fine but the new direction he’s taking is him moaning over tame impala instrumental. Definitely new, but still trash.
I'd give it an 8.6, just my opinion
Shit was 3/10
The only thing giving this a high score was just the stylistic change. When he comes out with another album of this sound and it's mediocre you're going to hate all over it
This album is laced with DMT
Just to prove a point – by KRS ONE, is a great rock song
7? Sigh
I’d love to hear a review on Into the Rift by Quarters of Change !
if tony doesnt like this thats how i know i will
Love the idea of bringing good music into the frame of modern pop music in terms of creativity, complexity and the overall courage to drop this.
by Kids See Ghosts standards. this is an 12/10
Putting lil yachty in the same sentence as Pink Floyd is absurd
if he gave this album anything under a 6 than there would be something seriously wrong with him
this album is so good
You gave this a higher rating than Herbert? Bruh what are you on?
