Not the majority of healing? LMFAO THATS TOTAL BS AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that ability made up for about 46% of healing which is huge. This was a huge nerf can't even pull shit w the life staff and heal off their impact, it's a huge ass nerf. If you're in pvp getting gwapped and abilities on CD you can't do shit but pray u got some healing pots and heavy armor. PvE? Rip bitches, no more aoe heals while y'all are grapes up also can't heal myself unless I'm in the shit. It's a horrible nerf, they should have booted lifestaff dmg if they were gonna pull some BS like that. Wait for wars later on today, watch all the healers get clapped and bitch about it. This nerf was class changing mechanic changing feel changing….gold gear crafting time just to wake up and see something of this magnitude changed got me fucked up. You got some weak ass gear so u can't relate but end game alpha's like myself got butthole fucked pretty hard by this.
Tbh not a fan I really enjoyed being able to heal myself and removed debuffs by shooting my feet. I thought they should of removed almost all damage from the life staff and make it just a healing weapon
Good info. Thank you. Playing a healer for the first time in an mmo with new world, normally play DPS. Did it for our group of 4. Gotta say its fun, not nearly as fun as playing DPS imo. But valuable.

I don't see it as a nerf. I see it as requiring healers to have some skill to play the class. It's no longer spam the ground and everyone gets heals, you actually need to hit a target to heal
This is actually a pretty big nerf for healers when you think about it. If a healer was fighting in someone’s face, he was passively healing himself with the light attack AOE, keeping themselves infinitely alive if they didn’t get bursted fast enough. Now this is no longer possible
I personally don't think life staff needs a nerf on the fact that we are still in early stages of the game and eventually expeditions and more content will get harder

you should test it again with someone that doesnt have full hp. in my tests what i found was it only heals every other light attack. so your 1st left click doesnt heal, the 2nd left click will. (every other left click) also you wont see how much your left clicks are healing for (some things i noticed on my client at least US west) so.. apart from the aoe nerf/removal, the left click heal got cut in half essentially. if you delay your light attacks however it'll heal every time. (light attack-wait-light attack)

Healing is still the same for me. I guess people didn’t really understand the part of healing staff. It wasn’t design to be in people face dps.
they couldve literally just added the aoe to when you hit a teamate instead of removing it as a whole.
Just make it If you are flagged for pvp it doesn't do the aoe, what is the problem with that????? Healing with lifestaff was fun
This is a good change. It will separate good healers from bad healers.
This is a Game Breaker for me instantly rerolled off healer to DPS ! way to get rid of 90% of the healers Amazon ! Makes you wonder if the idioit Devs even play New world !>?
Along with these nerfs, they also removed the hot effect of beacon like your previous video said when you "dip your toes in." The hot is instantly removed upon exiting the circle.
PvE wise I rarely used the light attack heal. I kinda mimic the war priest from war hammer online. Keep the heals up and stay in melee. In terms of keeping a group up and alive we have 2 AoEs that heal overtime. If people need the heals they can move into it.
LMFAO…..Amazon literally fixed a heal-consistancy bug and call it "Improvement"…..and they removed the light/heavy attack heal AoE and still cal it "Improvement". If they just simply call that's a "Bug Fix" and that's a "Nerf 'cause it's being too OP", well I won't be that pissed

A few thoughts on how this affects life staff gameplay, I do think it starts to add more priority on keeping Intensify stacks up, which means being better at hitting the harder skill shot. That is the best way to offset this nerf, which is probably a good thing for the game ultimately.
I do think it makes us squishier versus melee, since we were getting healing from autoing them in the face as they smack us. I know I will miss the 400-500 health per second from autoing a great ax in the face as he is smacking me for 1000-1500 a hit. That adds up very quickly over 5 to 10 seconds.
Lastly I think big groups are going to feel way way squishier. If you were a tank on a point in a war, you were being affected by sacred ground for 20%, beacon for 20%, probably someone's orb of protection for 7.5%, and then let's say three life staff light attacks for 20% each. That's 107.5% per second healing. After this nerf, let's say now it's only one of the light staff attacks that's actually going through you. That's 67.5% per second healing. People are going to die much faster, whether that's a good or a bad thing.
UPDATE Just so we all know–beacon actually still sticks to you when you "dip your toes" but your teammates have to be standing in it to get the healing. I am also getting reports that OoP radius baseline has decreased and is harder to hit with. I will keep adding to this list as we uncover more info! Add to the thread if you find something new!!!
More updates like this and the games going to die, nerfing the only healing weapon in the game while still keeping the overpowered dps greataxe and ice gauntlet is a bad move.
ohhh and i was thinking they broke Mending Touch and Blissfull Touch…. well they did kinda
I am not a hard core player. Pretty casual. I never really thought about those being AOE. The text tool does not specify AOE. I just assumed you had to shoot through people which as others have pointed out can be difficult as people just run around like chickens without a head.
Of course I noticed the aoe bubble every time i shot, but guess I didnt fully pay attention to that. I guess it may be a nerf – but it also does as the text of the abilities always stated.
In the end though, balancing a game between PVP and PVE is almost impossible. All games have struggled with it. You almost just need to have two sets of talent trees and/or gear. One for PVP and one for PVE.
This change legitimately makes me not want to try healing I liked the idea of the splash healing
