  1. Goes to show how much we should appreciate the peaceful times we live in today. Y’all have no clue how lucky you, I, and ALL of us are to be born in this tiny pocket of peace within human history. Where nobody is forcing you to die for random men who were put in positions of power. We get to live past the age of 16. We are in the limelight of human history right now.

  2. I'm not sure the Emperor is portrayed correctly. I don't think he gave many interviews or got involved in the day-to-day actions of the war. Also don't think the Japanese truly thought he was a God as westerners define God. It was more like "He should be treated as a God"

  3. Additional points.

If a Kamikaze made the flight but couldn't hit the target due to bad weather or cloud cover or mechanical problems he was allowed to return. The Japanese didn't want to "waste" the kamikaze. Now if you were the only one left or if you had returned 2-3-4 times that's another story…

Pilots were giving a cup of sake to calm their nerves prior. Potentially other drugs as well so that they would not lose their nerve.

  4. “Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your lives. Teach and counsel each other with all the wisdom he gives. Sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs to God with thankful hearts.”

  5. These poor people werent given a choice. Their lives over. Their fate seal. That's a sad situation and had to be mentally abd psychologically draining. And all of this for a War that they ultimately lost. Meaning these people died for absolutely no reason. They thought that their sacrifice would help secure a victory and make the world a better place for their loved ones but in reality, their sacrifice meant nothing besides keeping their family's honor intact.

  6. Moral of the story, don't sacrifice your life by whoever told you to sacrifice for them, sacrifice for those you wanna protect if there's no other way.
A lot of these ww2 drafts are simply dumb, if only the masses would wake up and refuse it altogether instead of following some kind of patriotic lie.
Don't worship anyone really, there's isn't anyone worth worshipping or dying over. Excessively worshipping anything will only numb your own thoughts and rationality/common sense.
