  2. Would it not be possible to simply have a 2-3 ft, (or should I use metric, hehe, ~1m) extension cord for Cybertruck? If everyone else has adapters to go from nacs to their plug then surely extending it with a nacs to nacs cord is possible! 😂

  3. So Power Wall 2 is rated for 5.8 kVA. Power Wall 3 is speced for 11.5 kW. 5.8kVA would only be 5.8kW in a perfect system. You multiply kVA by power factor(this is calculated by the inductance of the attached load) Tesla lists 5kw continous output on the spec sheet. So they are assuming a .86 power factor. Your mileage will vary there based on how inductive your houses loads are. This means PW3 has an inverter that is able to carry a 230% larger load. Both have a listed battery capacity of 13.5kWh.
This means a lot more buyers could run whole house off a single unit. Before it was often required to have 2 units to get enough inverter output for peak loading or choosing what loads you consider essential. This seperation also complicates the electrical panel layout for the home if the loads have to be split instead of the powerwall being able to feed max load.
So the cars onboard charger just so happens to also be capable of 11.5kW. I would wager Tesla is just using the exact same design for both onboard charger and the Powerwalls inverter. If that's the case at this point then bidirectional really would be a matter of software code to tell the car its allowed to do it. We shall see once someone can tear in to a PW3.

  4. Tesla Tips'''''''''''' Remote unlocking of doors. Standard practice is to unlock Drivers Door, then the rest of the doors on the 2nd click. A Safer pattern would be Driver door, rear driver side door, passenger door and then rear passenger side door. This allows driver to put something in the back seat without exposing the other side of the car to unauthorized entrance. It would mean more clicks but safer access. Also, make it float. Why can't it?

  5. Well technically Crimea is under Russian occupation since 2014, so it's more nuance then saying it's offensive action. Also to win their war they need to brake logistic which would imply strategic target near or on the other side of the border. I so believe Elon is trying to do.the right thing but he is strangely interventionnist for a free speech first philosophy guy..

  6. Zac, your love and adoration for Musk is a bit disturbing and cultish! Musk clearly spelled out his solution to the Ukraine/Russia war, it was for Ukraine to give Russia a big chunk of their land, Crimea, and agree to stay out of NATO. Both of these conditions are insane as Crimea belongs to Ukraine, always has, and Ukraine is a sovereign nation that can join NATO and the EU if it damn well wants to! Ukrainian soldiers are using Starlink, which is HEAVILY funded by the U.S. Gov't, but much of their intel comes from U.S. military satellites, which have been around far longer than Musk and Starlink. They're not relying only on Musk's Starlink. And, Musk let an openly-supportive Russia lover and criminal–Trump, back on his social media site. I own a Tesla, I'm 100% supportive of Tesla but really hope Musk learns to be more moderate or leave the company.

  7. 10:56 I've lived on the coast for over 30 years and have lost power a couple times. Both times no longer than 24 hours. It's hydroelectricity with some of the cheapest rates in the world. Solar and battery packs is a waste of money in my area. Nuclear makes better sense as green renewable option here.

  8. maybe the white sensor is checking for any leakage from the charge plug to the vehicle. in modern electronic driven cars, stray charges could ruin your sensitive electronics. Computers don't like current spikes……

  9. china's push button pickup is akin to the old chevy el camino or ford ranchero type trucks. cars are not trucks for a reason, trucks have heavy duty frames/suspension, and cars don't. Besides people just seemed over time to want bigger/safer trucks and SUV's . The only hope that china's car truck has any level of success is it's uniqueness. The cyber truck proves it's not about what the truck can do as much as it's uniqueness. Most say the cybertruck is ugly so there you go.

  10. Have to disagree with you two on Starlink Ukraine. Elon was talking to Putin or people right around him and after they told him their propaganda he didnt’t turn on or turned off, depending on who you believe starlink. UKRAINE was a sovereign country that Russia invaded, Russia raped and murdered a Ukrainians and Ukraine is trying to get Russia out of Ukraine, to make it sound like its Ukraine’s fault for trying to get Russia out by attacking Russian ships is disingenuous.

  11. The video and picture you have is so close its hard to make out the actual normal position but In review of the Cyber truck charging looks like the Truck is not centered, typically when I charge my Tesla the cable come straight back, with a little angle toward the Car, or more to the side, in most cases it looks almost as if you can charge on the opposite site for a car in the other bay like some other makes have, such as your rivian when driven in, not backed in?, is the a middle Bay or end, looks to be room?

  12. Here's a question about Elon's decision to limit Starlink over Crimea, What do you think is the short and long term objective of Ukraine to attack Russia in Crimea?
In my view, Ukraine specifically wanted to attack the devices that Russia uses to launch the missiles targeting their civilians and infrastructure. Winter is coming and Russia is planning once again to plunge Ukraine into darkness and kill civilians.

In the Long-term, Crimea is a symbol of defeat for Russia. Why is taking this land back a do or die for Ukraine? Because Russia WILL NOT STOP INVADING Ukraine and the other old Soviet states unless they suffer the losses and completely pay for the war they started. Short-term the war may stop as Elon said …but only temporarily Russia will invade again a few years later after they rebuild their military and Ukraine knows this. Putin is expecting Ukraine to give up and he whats our support to wane. And he knows we'll give in to his threats exactly the same once he invades again in the future. Ukraine is thankful for starlink, but this is the reason why Ukraine will not stop fighting Russia to Crimea no matter with or without Elon or what he says. Why would Ukraine give a #×$ about nuke threats when they are already facing genocide?
