Here we go again. You look like someone died. Maybe pick up another hobby, leave the GW space and work on your mental health. This isn't normal.
If you all in America think that what youre paying extra for GW is bad, pour one out for your mates down under here in Australia because we get DESTROYED here
As long as GW releases the squads in separate boxes and without limited numbers then I'm ok … The terrain can be brought separately over time anyways.

However. Here is the insidious part.
So back in 2020 I was on the Indomitus band wagon. Woo-hoo first edition release I am at the forefront. So right at the start it was clear this thing will sell out quickly. So I contacted my local GW store – bummer I was not going to be in the country on release. So they told me "No problemo. Come with 150 euro at the store and we will reserve you a box".
So essentially I got to preorder early. And I got the box. I got the lion as well, the same way.
So what I am saying is, this desperaty between third party retailers and GW stock is very much by design. If you buy directly from GW you will get a box, even better if you buy directly from the store you will 100% get a box.
For Leviatan I am part of a local gaming group that are big spenders and we are at the front of the line for any new releases, so I ordered it from a third party store.
All good points, I fully agree. I think GW are one of the worst companies in terms of their ethics.
Unfortunately people keep buying the product. Regardless of the ridiculous prices, the underhanded practices, the generally crappy treatment of their fans/customers, people still buy all the stock up.
GW will never change as long as that keeps happening. The only thing that would make them listen is if they started seeing sales drop.
GW feels a bit greedy nowadays. I love the ip but man its getting hard to actually buy something from them nowadays. I mean if its not the scalpers buying everything then its the prices screwing people over sadly.

The price on the UK site includes VAT (value added tax) which is 21% in the UK, so the base cost of Leviathan is really £124 as VAT is not charged on exports to the USA.
No matter what the big bad company does, people will dislike them because they can.
I was able to get the exact number I requested. I was told that they were not allocated when I placed the order on Monday and I was sent an invoice and shipping confirmation several days later. I have a large store and have been selling GW products for over 25 years. I also do not have an online store. I am curious as to the size of some of the stores that are getting harshly allocated and how long they have been in business. I would also be curious how much sales volume in GW product they normally have. I could see smaller operations getting limited. GW has indicated, at least in my dealings with them, that they are not fond of retailers selling their products for steep discounts online and that may factor into their allocation choices. Not giving GW a pass, I am just saying that their is likely some nuance in this situation that we are missing.
Our FLGS down here in Australia got allocated 25 boxes of the 50 he ordered and yet he sold 40 of the Horus Heresy starter.
Do you know the average cost that the stores pay for this?
In the 90s a friend of mine (that was the last time he played) who lived in Michigan used to order his GW stuff from a hobby shop across the street from GW, let his credit card do the currency conversion, and with shipping added, was still paying 50 to 70 percent of GW's US prices.
If you are going to complain about the price of something, DO NOT BUY IT! You are not entitled to afford everything desired. In no way is this a requirement to life or liberty. This is a luxury hobby. Get over it. Either afford it or not.
The arbitrary markups for foreign markets outside of the UK pisses me off to no end. But I will just use a UK reseller like Trolltrader to get around it. I feel like GW will never learn and that Ive given enough of my life to this company.
My small local store had to order a minimum of 30 or miss out. I feel that this situation has more to do with the gw sales rep in each case. Sounds like everyone has a different story.

Another channel trying to PROFIT off GW (remember, thats what spikey bits is doing, profiting off someone elses idea) and then complaining that the company they profit off of like a leech, is not running that company the way THEY want. Its so sad really.
I left at the beginning 8th edition but ill admit i was interested in this box, thought i might give 10th a shot. I worked until 5 got home checked the site, only had to wait a minute but it was sold out by the time i got to it. lol
This is so true This has been the hardest year ever dealing with GW. In the UK its bordering on impossible to keep customers happy.
GW is a vile blot on the hobby landscape.
