There are also 3 more of these enemies, you can stealth 2 of them but have to fight the 3rd one normally. So that's over 7000 runes per run.

Actually these guys spawn everywhere in this area, so thats a more fun way to do it by going around and killing them all
Used this. It was awesome. The Flask did nothing for me, I am a Faith build and the strength didn't seem to modify my ambush damage or anything. If you're reading this, you can safely skip that part. In the loop going up the east side there are about 15 enemies, all solo, and all easily killed. I was getting about 15k runes every 4-5min. You could push 200,000 runes an hour with this technique.
Not related to the video but what should I be leveling up as a confessor build, i've never played a Souls game before but was very tempted by elden ring.

Holy crap that's a lot of miracles! Using this method as a level 21 Astrologer with 25 Intelligence. They can one-shot me so I just walk backwards while spamming Glintstione Pebble. Thanks so much for this, 😁
If you take the bridge on the left of the dragon and go to a cliff a big Boulder will spawn and try to hit you. If you let it fall off the cliff you get about 2000 runes. You can do this over and over again.
I seriously think my game is glitches. I've spent an entire day trying to kill Margit. Somehow after I get him to his second phase he just crit one shots me. And I've been watching so many playthroughs and I'm like, he doesn't act like this for anyone else ….
It's slightly slower but its WAY safer. If you get into the Chamber Outside the Plaza of Redmane Castle you can turn around, kill 5 flamethrower guys for 309 runes each then just warp back and do it again. I haven't timed it but it might actually be faster then this one in the video. It's for sure easier and a thousand times safer once you get there.

Tentacle monster is a friendly npc, winged creature outside is a boss. There's also a site of grace inside
5:14 minutes. that monster inside is part of a side quest/covenant that is made to destroy undead. I recommend not killing him since he gives you good stuff, but with out spoiling, the way to get into that covenant is through meeting another NPC and doing somthing to impress him.
It's an NPC you should find then a boss you should fight before going to that world to start up a quest. That tentacle monster you would talk to after doing the former.
Theirs 3 more guys to kill after the last one on your run just ahead of him. 7 thousand each time.
I like to farm the giants up the spot from where the one jumps down to the pass. There are like 5 or 6 of them up there and each gives 1k runes. I play a mage so its pretty fast and easy to farm them.

Once too the grace point at the bridge with dragon, go back up the hill and right around the bridge and cross the smaller bridge that runs parallel to the dragon bridge. Hit the grace spot, mount up, run down the hill to the right and and avoid the ball that spawns behind you by circling it to the right. When it crashes off the cliff 1950 XP runes. Pull up map, respawn at the last grace at top hill, rinse and repeat. Got 25k runes in half hour
I got the Mount in front of that first entrance 1:47 in

Do you have to pop the wondrous flask to farm the runes? Or can u just kill them and get the runes
If you found patches you can get the missionary cookbook #2 to make gold-pickled fowl feet. He also sells 3 for 600 each. This gives you 30% more rune per kill and lasts slightly longer than the Flask. I usually got 5 kills when using the fowl feet so it nets you an extra 1,000 runes per 5 killed. Every rune counts!
Could just mod the runes really. Take about 2 minutes.
This is an excellent early game farm. Thank you for the video. Just a quick word though, with a +2 uchigatana I was able to do just as much damage to the Vulgar Militia without the flask of physick. So after running around the area for about 5 minutes I was able to amass 10K plus souls killing all the monsters plus getting a pretty decent drop of the their armor.

Fastest method I found on my own was the two giants carrying the carriage in Limgrave. You spawn at the grace where pumpkin head is, you can mount in there and run right outside they will be reset every time you tp back to it. Fastest way is using glintstone arc and shooting sideways through them while targeting the back one so you can cleave them. Obviously this is the super farmable as astrologer starts with arc. You can buy it from Sellen in the basement if you don't have it otherwise. It nets 2k per run and depending on your int it's like <30s a run and as soon as they die you open map and tp back to grace and run back out and repeat. No risk and no danger. If you are building an int character and just keep dropping in points for int with a meteorite staff you will get faster and faster at killing them which helps as you'll need more runes per level. It scales pretty well compared to most other farms in the game. Not many areas provide absolutely no risk and no wasted time as much as this run.
There are certainly some mobs that will net you much higher runes per kill in later areas, but as magic user this can farm you up so fast. I got so strong that I went around to do other content I couldn't beat on first attempt and wiped the floor with them. This is the most op one for magic that I've found especially early on that beats most of the first 3 or so areas. Another is the dogs in Caelid near the merchant in the north which give 1800 each, but can just about 1 shot you most likely. If you are ranged and use rock sling it's super cheese as they can't actually reach you because every direct hit to the head will knock them down. So if you can reliably kill 1 every 30s then it is faster, but it has risk involved and sometimes you'll waste time with deaths. A good strat is using rock sling to knock them down after you aggro them and then just run up and hit them with carian slicer and finish off with execute if you need to edge in a little more damage to get the kill.
2000 runes per minute is pretty insignificant.
