I'm sure someone has already said this but her skill doesn't reset if you use her burst so there is a lot of downtime from her skill which the c2 fixes. You could also use sacrificial greatsword too i suppose.
About the c2 extending her field duration, you said it yourself "as long as you get the energy to use her burst", now tell me how you gonna do that if her only way to generate particles is her E procks, the only time you have her on field is her ult and during her ult the E field is retracted from the field. The only teams she can manage to get enough energy for that are mono pyro or if you perposfully have favonius weapons on other members of the team to funnel the energy into her.
Dehya is an energy glutton. Shes fun to play but even I can’t cope enough to act like she isn’t the worst pyro character at best and just worst character overall.
4:00 : wait that's objectively wrong, the 3 animations, E cast, E reposition and Q reposition ALL APPLY PYRO In a pretty wide field.
6:30 you said it on minute 4. If you swap, Dehya won't put her E down again, basically you lose the E. You need to be able to cancel it while still keeping the E on field.
8:30 dude… You need her Q if you want to reliably refresh it of course… Not everyone have perfect rotation, 6s of leeway is good.
I don't know how they managed to mess up all 3 female dark skinned characters in a way that makes them completely undesirable. I swear to god someone in the balance team has it out for them. And that certain someone must have an allergy against melanin.
It annoys me so much because characters like these have no reasons for existing. She doesn’t fill any niche, she doesn’t provide new tech…she just…exists to annoy people

Give Dehya the full clam set and build her
with healing and hp. Also TRY to also get either ER, pyro, or physical on your off piece it's helpful than just stand still as sh-t slowly melts away like Maple's poison.

Actually, with Alhaitham, after his burst, you have just enough time to swap to another character, use their burst and then back to Alhaitham to pick up his mirrors. Feature not a bug
1st things 1st. I actually REALLY like the kit concept. They just really fumbled the execution. Probably since they seem to always overvalue defensive abilities in general. The Zhongli debacle being a prime example. On top of just being greedy and being unwilling to change her kit a large amount after she hit beta.
A few things to note here:
1: She does actually have basically immortality if you build her as a healer. it is antithetical to the point of the kit but it is possible. she can actually kill azdaha without any input if you AFK for an hour with the clam set. is it good? god no. is it an option since all us dehya mains are coping beyond all possible cope… yeah… sadly.
2: Collei, from her banner. With the 1 star hunters bow at lvl 1. with the 4 star instructor set. yeah that out damages a C6R5 Dehya when the enemies are standing in water with permanent hydro application. That isn't even taking into account Bennett who can one shot these enemies with his ult that does everything she wants to do but better.
3: The animation times are actually her only saving grace at C0 since without it she cannot even fulfill her role. its horrendous that she needs it but yeah. we don't really want those shortened unless she gets some sort of damage buff with it.
4: The unconfirmed but leaked artifact set Zajeff has a video on but the long story short is it is actually a downgrade from EoSF before C4.
5: Plus to tie into your complaints on cons, the artifact set looks like it is basically just another part of her kit they ripped out and stuck somewhere else to siphon more money.(Resin resets) it would not surprise me if the original draft had the artifact set in some form as her ascension passives.
6: speaking of prerelease there was a point at which they changed the image of the C1 and it looked like a healing icon. My guess is that they were actually thinking about making that a healing con and pushing that HP% scale to base kit as well. that would have been preferable to what we got. Sadly again i think they got too hungry for money and stopped that in their tracks.
7: Dehya's A4 is far too weak when it comes to corrosion. Did some testing myself and she just outright dies even with 70k HP if you try to use her in the golden wolf lord overworld fight. My initial impression was they were trying to make a solution to the problem they made with corrosion but naw. it's just even stronger against dehya than normal shielders.
8: They obviously had an idea to have her function similar to raiden(mentioned somewhat on the topic of the leaked artifact set) but apparently were too scared by it. The give away to this would be that the meter that she takes the damage from is actually named instead of just an arbitrary out there statistic. it was supposed to do more. then it got tossed.
9: C2 is actually super useful for using her as an off field support. it would be better if it just lasted the full 20 seconds and you could just recast 3 times for some interaction and also max stack crimson witch.
10: This one I am sure everyone has heard but dear god I gotta rant. WHY can't she proc yelan/xinqui. From a programming perspective I get they aren't gonna proc from something that isn't what is supposed to proc them. On the other hand… I know how easy that is to fix. genuinely a single function(or whatever the coding language has this named) call every time she swings her fists to say "this is a normal attack, proc any related activity".
11: The real kick in the nuts comes from the realization that to get a somewhat functional kit you have to get her to C4. they yoinked out several KEY functions of her kit and stuck them in cons so that you HAVE to roll for them if you like her. standard banner is not gonna give you the necessary 5 copies anytime soon(if ever).
12: my current use case for her is as a pyro applier for DPS kazuha. It is beyond niche but i actually spent a year and a half in the VV domain for a reason and so help me god i am gonna use it. i used it in the abyss though. Yeah just outright worse than using a classic burst raiden to I-frame out of damage. Sticking to Dehya cuz i love her but man is it disappointing.
13: for best case damage melt is better for her. particularly C6 dionna, C6 bennet, and C2 kazuha means that you can push dehya to about 135% pyro damage and 400+ EM. i have been able to get a 109k melt with a C0R1 Dehya with this. a more expensive but way more usable version of this would be C4 ayaka instead of dionna. that is my current team for her. sadly this means no healer and realistically never using Dehya and just using ayaka as she is instead just works better.
Edit 14: Jumping to cancel the burst is intended gameplay not a bug according to support.

Simps are destroying everything. Dehya is bad, the trial run is a scam to begin with. People should not pull for this, even with the awesome "personality" given to her by the writers. It is very egregious if this is Mihoyo's way of introducing future content to their customers.
The only part of her kit that I don’t see as flawed is the elemental application on her Burst. With how quickly she hits, standard ICD makes sense to me, though the dive kick at the end should be on a separate ICD from the punches. The problem is how low the base damage is due to the awful multipliers. The numbers she hits for on Vaporize are what her raw numbers ought to be.
Besides the basic requirement of significantly upping her HP scalings (tripled at the very minimum, and adding big HP scaling to the parts of her Skill that don’t have it), here’s some fixes for her, keeping in mind that she’s going to the Standard Banner:
1) E. Skill – Keep 12 second duration, but reduce cooldown to 12 seconds. Burst places a new field with a fresh duration at the end. Coordinated attack rate is doubled to every 1.25 seconds, keeping a standard ICD, meaning it applies Pyro every other hit. Not much better for, say, Melt/Vaporize comps, but much better for Burgeon. Slightly slower than Thoma, but doesn’t require Energy like he does. Also, increase AoE on coordinated attack. She should always be able to hit Dendro Cores.
2) Burst- Reduce cost to 40 energy and cooldown to 12 seconds. If you have her on-field doing damage and collecting particles, it should be feasible to Burst on cooldown. If she’s playing off-field support, she should easily be able to Burst every 20+ seconds like in many popular teams. She’ll probably still require some ER substats, but an ER Sands likely becomes overkill and you can instead pick ATK, HP, or EM. Make the Burst properly controllable like Raiden/Cyno/etc., both because it feels better, and so that jumping doesn’t cancel it.
3) Tanking – Now that she does decent damage and has lower cooldowns, her tanking ability doesn’t need to change much, because you can properly justify both a healer and building HP on her. She should mitigate and transfer more damage, but it’s not as necessary. Her passives, particularly the Gold-Forged Form state, would need to be adjusted to account for her lower cooldowns.
4) Constellation 1 – Already improved scaling for her Skill and Burst, so change C1 to add HP scaling to her Normal/Charged/Plunging attacks. I really want to play her on-field, especially with infusions from Bennett or Candace.
5) Constellation 2 – Reduced cooldowns means she doesn’t need the duration extension, and the bonus DMG on her coordinated attacks sucks, so we replace it with bonus ATK% and EM whenever she takes damage. Gives her a proper ‘revenge’ mechanic to go with her tank role.
6) Minor, but further reduce knock back on her Normal Attacks. They’re not as bad as they looked in the livestream preview, but again, I want to play her on-field.

She has the look of a 5 star and a kit like a 4 star. They intentionally made her bad for the permanent banner and it hurts so much. When even if they threw her a bone with more frequency on her E pyro activation and gave us full control of her burst as standard attacks, it wouldn't be enough to make her stronger than the limited characters. Her kit and scaling is too clunky for that.
20 % of her time on field is just animations?
I am getting Yae Miko flashbacks… granted, Yae is worse, but she got the DOT of her turrets to compensate somewhat
Sorry to say a full whale Dehya can't even hit 40k punches. She hits like a wet noodle. The multipliers just aren't there. I've seen the damage per shreenshot team supporting whale Dehya and she can barely break 30k. She is legit unusable in abyss.
I knew the trial was going to deceptively try to make her look good.
But a Benny built for burst damage and ER support? REAL subtle Hoyo.
They KNOW she's trash and gave her the best crutch they could.
My theory on Dehya's development, TLDR version: Her kit was an experiment, they screwed up, didn't want to bother fixing it, dumped her off.
I wish her ult had a rage mechanic where it got powered up as Dehya takes damage off field and then comes in and whallops stuff. Sort of like how Beidou’s E functions. Would justify high multipliers without needing to give her main dps stats which hoyo seems to not want to do for some reason.
One thing to note about Dehya’s passive healing: the twenty second cooldown starts once she activates the burst healing at the start so she has 10 seconds of healing and then 10 seconds until it can activate again. I could be wrong but that’s what I feel as though I’ve noticed.

i just tested her against nearly every boss in the game, by herself, no healing, no shields, and she bodied nearly all of them single handedly. La Signora was the only one she couldn't take due to her mechanics. however, keep in mind i also didn't make use of the things that reduced the heat/chill gauge to test just how powerful her durability was and she didn't last to long lol. but La Signora was the only one who was capable of doing this even other DoT enemies either were avoidable and as such it was an irrelevant factor or the damage simply wasn't enough to make it a threat as her passive healing outpaced the damage the DoT dealt. so yes, her damage sucks, but she's nearly unkillable. she even solo'd AND survived fights not even my Zhong Li WITH his shield couldn't.
