18:09 – eh, Chris wanting her on the team probably has more to do with her shroom powers than any combat training/experience; she can always be trained to fight, shroom powers can’t be taught (unless Chris has gone all Wesker on us).
19:57 – as I understand it, the Umbrella Chris is working with is supposed to be made up of the parts of Umbrella who didn’t know about the shady stuff the ‘real’ Umbrella was getting up to until Racoon City happened and they reformed Umbrella and are trying to reclaim the name or something by trying to clean up the mess Umbrella has left behind. So, yeah, plenty of room for the next game to be all ‘shock twist – they were evil all along’.
They could’ve at least tried to obfuscate the name – like, call it ‘Parasol’. Then when it gets revealed Parasol is just a front/shell company for Umbrella and an NPC reacts shocked by the revelation, Jill/Chris/Leon just facepalms and goes “Really? You really couldn’t guess the guys named Parasol and whose logo is a pallet swap for Umbrella’s was actually Umbrella is disguise?”
considering the RE world where bio weapons have run around causeing havoc and the like, i kinda get why rose would have friend issues and the like. even fi by that year BOW's are finally gone, it would still be reacent enough to have everyone be afraid of various things still being around. (consider how hidden some of the threats can be too)

Those powers are a part of Rose. Unless they are physically causing her brain trauma and harm or whatever, what would be the point of getting rid of them? Powers are cool Rose! Don't get rid of them : ) Beat up those bad guys!
