I kind of want this thing for commander. This seems like it could be fun to play.

Where is the talk of crucible of worlds? to Sac lands and your able to play lands from your own grave. Most players do not run the Crucible outside of lands matters decks. Sooooo, its going to be very detrimental to them. I think even a mono green ramp deck would feel the pain. Also you can offset your mana production until you get crucible with effects like crypt ghast/nirkana revenant/nykthos/cabal coffers. Basically the likely hood of any deck being able to continue sacrificing lands is minimal. Also can inflict more damage with Wound Reflection.
People who want braids unbanned just make tergrid. No one likes my tergrid deck.
This effect is honestly so much better than OG Braids. Not only does this one add more types to sacrifice, but it also punishes if they don't sacrifice something. Depending on the right commander, I can easily see this in the 99. And by right commander, I mean Sheoldred, the Apocalypse.
Been looking for a black commander to build, think I just found it.
Gotta say, the upgraded variants in my mind have me laughing…

I have a braids deck. I can see my self picking up four of her. I do my braids deck simple. Just a load of land destruction and 0 and 1 casting cost guys that work well with paying her tax. I can see my self having four of the new one. As a variant. Swapping out between rounds for flavor.
Braids is one of my ALL time favorite cards I got her in a modern deck and vintage deck and I want her unbanned in commander also. I love stacks 😈😈💯
Her synergy with grave pact is straight up bull shit.
I'd definitely use crucible of worlds to make sacrificing lands a good choice.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Tergrid. She'd go well with Braids for extra saltiness.
i dont see it been that good. It doesnt force your opponent, that MAY wording might make it garbage. not so good as ppl might thing, no idea.
So new Braids is actually way stronger than original Braids but we will just let this all play out hahha

I feel like a lot of people are going to play Demonic Pact but then someone's going to kill braids and you just lose the game and feel really bad about it.

My brother is making a ripoff of my braids deck, he t1 sol ring, t2 braids, sacrifcing a land.. i was thinking of blowing the ring up but then the salt rained and the game fell apart.
How to speedrun losing your friends.
Play sanguine bond then exquisite blood and sacrifice a land to hopefully deal one damage
Then gain life equal to the amount of life your opponents lost
….
Then deal damage equal to the life you gained
…….
then gain life equal to the health they lost
…..
And all because they didn't want to sacrifice a land
As someone that has cast Braids turn one with Dark Ritual, and then sacraficed my only land at the end step[…. I didn't win the game, but 100% would do it again.
Butcher of malakir, tergrid, and I that betrays will be the Allstars of the deck.
My Braids idea: Enchantment Braids. Most people don't have enchantments on board. Especially not one they want to sacrifice.
I don't want people to sac stuff. I want to draw cards.
