  1. i actually found it harder to get it off of the centre stand than getting it on! Needed to rock it a little more. Max shows how easy it is when he puts his bike onto the centre stand whilst his whole " family " is sittng on the bike at once!

  2. That Beach Plum Jelly looks yummy! 🙂 I'm glad to see your enjoying the jelly! Let me know when you need more. I've got to say I have been putting bikes up on the center stand for years, including my full dress Yamaha Venture's. I was kind of surprised at how much harder it was putting the 2002 GL1800 up on the center stand then is was all those other bikes. It just takes some more uumph when pulling up and back on the the rear seat handle and handle bars.

  3. Thank you Robert! Always appreciate your thoughts snd input. For me it’s a mindset to be in. To prepare for the loading of a 1k pound costly behemoth moment. It’s not complicated or difficult. It’s a technique. A rhythm that comes with practice. Practice creates confidence. Starting with those 2 center-stand contact points. For me. Ensure your footwear can handle the pressure and small force needed to step down. Ensure there is a debris free surface devoid of any cracks or high/low spots. Including parking lots, etc. If you plan this movement. Soft tennis shoes might disable some folks feet with the necessary rigidity required to exert the small amount of down force. Also for me. I “do not retract the side stand when lowering my bike back down”. In the event of any loss of control there is no place for the motorcycle to settle on. This is also how I’ve noticed some dealers move about their inventory about within the show room. Thanks again. Sever Cold tonight and for several days in North Texas.

  4. Hi Robert, This is very useful information especially for new Goldwing owners! I really struggled with this and was unable to get the bike up on the center stand by myself until I found Max's video. The key is, as you said, knowing that once you have the far side foot of the center stand down, the bike will NOT tip over. I was fortunate enough to get a 120 mile ride in today going through Mansfield, Keene, Cleburne and Acton before the cold front blew in. With the weather forecast, I doubt that I will be on the bike for the next week or so. By the way, I like your coffee cup. Stay safe and warm!

  5. I was working at a Honda dealer in the late eighties when the GEN-4 Gold Wing 1500 debuted. It was not only heavier then the previous GL1200 but notable more ponderous as well. But it was so well engineered that it was actually easier to hoist up onto the center stand. I even learned to do it one-handed there on the showroom floor! Thanks for posting this and Good Luck with YouTube.

  6. Robert my friend, I am late getting to your video today. For some silly reason I never noticed the notification. You did a nice job with your instruction video. I have been there before but once you find that contact point everything balances out and the bike goes on the center stand with ease. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to see you guys out riding again.
