  1. The overall design is reminiscent of Milton Brdley's Starbird from 1978. It was also modular, as the engine could be removed and attached to the back of the cockpit section to make a smaller ship, just as this set does. It also had two detachable fighters that acted as the wingtips for the ship. This is something I see in Lego often, borrowing from other toy lines.

  2. I'm pretty happy with the way this looks overall, but the interior behind the cockpit and the smaller module could be a lot better. If you look at the Lego friends mars base and the separate friends rover, that's how you do to the interiors of the modules. Because they managed to fit not only lab stations in there, but they also fold up into sleeping stations. I don't get why it's so hard for them to do that in these modules when minifigs are smaller than the minidolls. Also I'm kind of surprised that they blocked the accessways off in the module with brick built doors. Still, a solid review of this set.

  3. I'm glad the new figures are different from the bam guy but still maintain the design, I have a few of the bam ones and I put some extra of the printed legs on them but tbh I prefer the plain ones, it helps sell the sleek future look. Reminds me of Star Trek TNG

  4. I was hoping we would get a larger Spaceship than the one that comes in huge Space Base set, and this one doesn't disappoint. Will definitely be getting 2 of this spaceship set for some extra customizing options.

  5. Looks good. Great set, and yes we need more. Would love to see a true T section. As well as a X. That way you can connect more together. Make a huge space city. With all the smaller modules.

  6. In a regard of the first two modules and the "alleged" lack of detail inside, well, you've kind of already answered it yourself when you pointed out that the first one was to accommodate the cosmonaut/astronaut with that massive jet-pack. There was really not much *space left in there once you seated her in.
And concerning the second one, again, once you placed inside the drone, there was like just enough room left for one minifigure to stand in and to pose them as if they were working on something via the computer terminal on the wall (oops! it's a spaceship, so it should rather be called a 'bulkhead' 🙂) or on the drone itself…. or whatever.

    EDIT:
    * – Maybe the display could have been larger, like a 2×4 tile instead of the 2×2 one, and with some exclusive sticker featuring something unique and intriguing, 'sci-fi-wise'. 🙂

  7. Great set, probably the best non-franchise spaceship that Lego had released in many years – yeah okay, i may lie because of the new Blacktron Renegade that is released together with this ship. I will get surely get this one once the early buzz hast settled and we see the first discount.

  8. Just out of curiosity, do you have the other space 2024 sets? Could we see a video on swapping other modules, like maybe putting the space-tug cockpit on it from the modular spacestation, or maybe the carrier ship from the spacebase and rocket launchpad set? or maybe combining the HAB module with the space science lab? Theres so much modularity i'd love to see covered!

  9. The only statement you made that I would disagree with , is: These City Space Sets are NOWHERE NEAR COMPARABLE to the Galactic-grit, and robust rugged Spaceship designs that noted in the Classic Space, Blacktron, and Star Wars Themes!

  10. Love that we finally got something of a flag ship for the theme. The new space suits are underwhelming, wish they had just included more of the same from the last wave. Maybe the less detailed suits are supposed to be the workers who just stay in the base and don't explore, mine, or pilot ships. I even used the Stormtrooper mech suit, replaced the Imperial tile up front with the space tile, swapped the white kibble on the arms for orange and yellow, and stuck a pair of battery cylinders on the back to make it a mech suit for city space, working security. I went with yellow because I had the parts, and it works to have one of the miner helmeted people pilot it.
