  1. I'm not keen on people using that kind of language, and especially not those we are supposed to respect like MPs, but the gist of what he said will resonate with millions of Britons who see their precious tax money being wasted on keeping uninvited foreign chancers in four star hotels. Our government has failed to keep our country secure with regard to allowing these invaders into our communities and it is still failing us now.

  2. Professor, glad you are back.
I wonder if PM Sunak realised that he was appointing the 21st Century equivalent of Kenneth Tynan to Deputy. Does this mean that we can expect the same result of the "F-word" within the Palace of Westminster? This is the Tory who was banging on about "30p Meals" whilst at the same time was claiming some £220k in Parliamentary Expenses for the same year. Two-faced.
The "Clarification" to Diane Abbott is meaningless as during a Commons Select Committee meeting mid-November of last year, Tory MP Tim Laughton used a Hypothetical Scenario about routes into the UK which finally admit that there were NO LEGAL ROUTES open to these Human Beings. It was an uncomfortable thing for her.
Equally any calls for the withdrawal from the ECHR are akin to Turkeys voting for Xmas, as unless you are from a Galaxy far, far away it will affect us all.
Thank you for your time. TTFN

  3. I don't know if you ever studied the history of the Sex Pistols but there was something good behind them. Two people made them what they were. One was Ron Watts who was their promoter and owned a club in London and a pub in High Wycombe. He has written a book called 100 Watts, and the extraordinary thing about him is the bands that played in his pub. Look down the list of the most famous all time rock and roll legends and chances are they played in this place at one time or another. This linage goes right back to the 50s with legends like John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters, through to bands such as The Who, Fleetwood Mac, David Bowie and then in the late 70s these punk bands.

The other amazing thing was a chap called Dave Goodman, their sound engineer. He perfected these mixing techniques which created their unique sound. To this day, only Dave Goodman knew this art and sadly it died with him. Anyhow I've met Ron Watts because this pub was my local, and many years later a close friend was signed up to Dave Goodman's record company and she knew him well and so we knew him too. The mainstream never talk about these two, but without them the band would never have existed. Dave moved to Malta in his last years and exported punk to the island.

  5. anderson has just shown us what the core of the tory party thinks, is he so inartticulate and poorly educated. this just smacks of red meat to the masses, dumbed down rhetoric to stir up the e.s.n voters into turning on migrants. this was all done for effect, for the up coming general election. so as the tories can say to the electorate, look feel the same as you about these people. the blinkered being led , just like in 1933.

  7. In 1373 there is a recording of the place name "F***ing Grove" as a medieval field in Bristol, recorded as Bristol got its charter as a county. Bristol as well as many other places in England also had a "Grope C*nt Lane" and a "Whores Street", places where prostitutes practised their trade.

  10. Profesor Wilson,

while the languiage is less than ideal it reflects what the majority in this country believe.
These people are in no position to complain about their treatment, after all they are being saved from the dreadful
consequences of remaining in their own country. Really?
Let us be realistic, these imigrants are here because of the benefits they can get and which they are most certainly not entitled. For too long the U..K. has been a soft touch. Asylum, for those who are in that category. is granted to the nearest available country which does not descibe the U.K.
We need a far more robust response to them.

  13. Tim, The Sex Pistols-Grundy incident, which I am also old enough to remember seeing isn't comparable with Lee Anderson's use of expletives in my opinion. Anderson is a blunt speaker in extremis whilst Johnny Rotten & Co were motivated by sensationalism and that peculiarly and most probably baseless, quasi-anarchistic phenomenon that found expression by an element of 1970's youth culture. I was an Art student in Manchester at that time and remember seeing it all unfold as it did. Anderson is more in the mould of a Geoffrey Boycott although I think Boycott is more of a gentleman when it comes to choice of words.
