The officers should have educated the complainant while they were there, instead of just walking off.

My question is… Why did she detain you. When you pull up on someone with flashing emergency lights, a reasonable person wouldn't believe they were free to go.
God bless ALL vets. Homeless Vets are likely people with drug, alcohol or mental health problems, they should seek help from the state….if in fact they want help. This leech is exploiting vets and quite likely getting paid by utube for his unwanted efforts. Trespassed and jail would mean a night in a warm bed and probably a meal or two. Give your utube money to homeless vets….now, that is something honourable.

Panhandling is a crime depending on where you live. The 'law' you cite is just a case in the Washington STATE supreme court. It is not binding to all states. You are getting people arrested left and right

It should be illegal for police officers to knowingly lie and intimidate people who may not know the law. How is it okay for a cop who knows this is private property to threaten to trespass someone and then when called out on it realizing the person actually knows the law they just walk away?!

I wonder how many people would complain, and how many cops would try to trespass, cite, warn, or arrest someone wearing a t-shift or hat that had the letters: "M.A.G.A." written on it, instead of it written on a cardboard sign. Similarly, I wonder about someone wearing a shirt that said "God bless our homeless vets." It seems that it's discriminatory that the police don't seem to bother people with printed speech on their shirts, yet they do if someone is carrying a cardboard sign. Maybe it's the appearance, rather than the content of the speech – who knows.
The only bad thing I saw was the cops didn't want to go in and EDUCATE the business about public sidewalks.
