Leave a little sparkle in your wake

As I “turn the page”/“start a new chapter”/“begin another trip around the sun”— I am reminded how gosh-darn-beautiful it is to be on this magnificent blue marble.
*
*
I feel *so* blessed to live the life that I do— surrounded by people that I love, participating in activities that bring me joy, and pursuing passions that give me purpose.
*
*
I LOVE that I have been afforded the circumstances that have allowed me to intentionally craft a life that I feel content with— that facilitates me loving deliberately & extravagantly. **A place where I tell people how much I care, and do not worry about being “too much”. **If I am “too much” sugar for your cup of tea— you are welcome/encouraged to go find less.
*
*
And while life doesn’t always go as planned— and I might drop an F-bomb (or two!) when those situations arise… I will *always* pivot/plot-twist to seek out the sunshine, the sparkle, the silver-lining, the light. **I am soothed by the idea/imagery that a disco ball is 1,000 pieces of broken mirror, and that that compilation creates a magical ball of sparkle— that our broken pieces are what actually make us the stunning “perfectly imperfect” entities that we are.
*
*
In my humble opinion— I think Heidi Priebe knocked it out of the park when she said we must live our lives as though we are the love of it— **”Because that’s the only thing you know for sure— that through every triumph, every failure, every fear, and every gain that you will ever experience until the day you die— YOU are going to be present. YOU are going to be the person who shows up to accept your rewards. YOU are going to be the person who holds your own hand when you’re broken. YOU are going to be the person who gets yourself up off the floor every time you get knocked down.”
*
*
So as I reflect on my own journey… I ask you— What if there were only fifty more holidays left in your life— or ten more summers, or fifteen more times you’ll wake up early enough to watch the sunrise? **Are you doing what brings you joy— are you content with where you stand?
*
*
Do good recklessly.

*
Leave a little sparkle in your wake.
