  1. Hey shouldn't you be considered a master master plumber since you have a master's license in more than one state I'm just wondering I know you're a master in the state of South Carolina where I live I just don't live by the coast

  4. No-hub couplings should be used on no-hub pipe and fittings as they are sized for it. Mission couplings are made for and will give you the proper transition and multiple material transition options, pl x cop, ci x pl, etc. We do not use Fernco couplings but are allowed to use Fernco bushings in the cast iron hubs when we dig the lead and okum out of the hub.

  5. Mikey, have pulled out 3 lead bends, lead and okum out of 4" XH cast iron hubs and replaced them with Fernco 4" to 3" reducer bushings (sometimes also called donuts) in 3 baths in my own home during renovations. Are these against code in Long Island? They have been in place 28, 20 and 12 years with no issues. Any concerns? Thanks.

  6. Good tip from Steve Lav on setting a toilet: He uses pens as pointers to the closet bolts. Works like a charm every time. I’m assuming that concrete is thick enough to support the toilet and flange…I think I’d like to put some wood 2×3 or 2×4 under the flange so you have something to screw into as well as extra support. Nice seeing the crew together 👍👍

  7. What you've been doing are essentially "working interviews", taking these guys out into the field and letting them expose to you just exactly how much experience and knowledge they really have. In my judgement, this is better than having a lengthy sit-down interview process. Anyone can memorize bullet points out of a textbook or hammer some YouTube videos to BS their way through a verbal interview, it's a bit tougher when it comes to demonstrating real world work.

  8. In Hong Kong a fancy koler squater toilet was at an angle with grooves… yes I looked never used in 5 years…. one slip and your foot goes in..plus i m not good at aiming…but at a market public toilet it was just a hole in the concrete..no walls for privacy, just hanging out.. first entrance was bizarre local squatted over hole waved at me very friendly while he aimed for the hole.. no walls… forbidden city you had on open wall you hung your arse over it and let loose. While people's can see you going.. thru trees.. one long trough… think smell… they just piled up until worker opened spicket at end… children had no stitching on the rear of their pants etc.. as you walked the summer palace the child just walked to side dirt and copper a squat.. toilet was 20 feet away.. but when child went on dad's shoulders little child the pants rear opened exposing their tushy… not something you see in america…. please bring your own toilet paper none is provided.. you pay to use toilet…

  9. I like the bathroom, that must of gone in and out of fashion 3 times over the decades. Great job as always, lead soil pipes😮 I’m British and that’s crazy to me. We only used lead for our drinking water 🤣😂🤣 (not anymore)
