The classic medieval Persian poem by Nizami Ganjavi (1141-1209) of a pair of star crossed lovers. It’s sometimes called the middle eastern Romeo and Juliet and was an inspiration for Eric Clapton’s song Layla. A translation by James Atkinson read by Thomas Fells.
