  1. Go see how problematic China made trains have been elsewhere in Africa before you celebrate! They don't train Africans how to maintain the lines or give instructions on how to run their foreign systems with Chinese manufactured parts…. also tell me the debt trap Nigeria is now in because of this train!

  2. Look at the "National Art theatre Metro" looking like a 1950s train station metro with no partitions between the train and the passenger or safety glass that separate passengers from the people thereby jeopardizing their safety. Nigeria and mediocrity is 5 and 6!!! It is a shame. Travel and see. Go and watch Dubai Metro

  3. No road from surulere to lagos island, people treck home every nigh.. It is easy to buy a new shoe, but polishing it every morning is the only way to keep the shoe anew.. Establishing New projects is an endless race. Consistently maintaining and upgrading existing projects is the only way to develop. Take a look at Europe (London) , they don't have bullet trains, but their underground system runs efficiently due to dedication to maintainance and upgrades of existing facilities.

  4. Right from the day I saw infrastructures like this being built in various cities in Nigeria, I knew that some Nigerians will definitely complain. Everyday we complained about traffic in Lagos, now Lagos State government is putting some efforts to decongest the roads, yet some Nigerians still complain. What exactly Nigerians want? Men are never satisfied that is why many seem impatient to get to their place of destiny.

  5. Why the celebrations when the railway lines have not been completed?

This is new. I have never heard of any one who stages a party to celebrate while a project is ongoing. Celebrations are usually organized to mark the completion of a project.

    Is this just publicity?

It will be good to have this project completed before any celebrations.

  8. It crazy how non lagosians hate on Lagos just like how non Californians hate on California even when both states are the most populous, richest and most prosperous in their respective countries.

  9. What need to follow is that Nigerian indigenous engineering company build the next one. I am happy for the infrastructure but I am sad that for the number of PHDs (Educated people we got, we still rely on foreigners to build our infrastructure). If there are 10 companies (Any field) 8.5 should be indigenous. Mental slavery and curroption that hamper the effort and motivation of our people should be whipped out by all means.
Our engineers need to be supported sincerely to performance. We need to remove the mental slavery that what our people do is not good.
Chinese were supported by their govt before they were able to come and build infrastructure in Nigeria. I am looking for a day Nigeria Engineers would go to China and beyond to develop their infrastructure. It is a bold move, difficult and painful but as 200 million with abundant resources and talent we belong to the highest achievement of human endeavour.

  11. Lol… FVCKING SCAM!!! Ethiopia built their light rail of 34km for less than $500m but Lagos spent ver $1bn for this little rail network πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. MEANWHILE, WATCH HOW IT WILL DETERIORATE LIKE THE OSHODI TERMINAL…This is what you get when you don't build your citizens as you build infrastructure 😏
