My 2000 Corolla was getting the 'battery light' coming on so I had a serpentine belt from Japan put on and the alternator also needed to be replaced. I started with the cheaper item and both were far beyond a normal age at nearly 300K miles. Some things are NOT worth doing if you will never do them again, so just pay a pro to do it and forget it. I have had no car payment for 17 years! it!
I'm curious, what do you charge for a full brake job? I'd like to base my pricing schedule off of yours. I really respect what your doing. I have started my own mobile mechanic service because ppl get ripped off so often. Our business model is based off of honest labor costs and that's exactly what you have Ernest!!
Dang that alternator and belt looked like a real pain in the you know what. Good job making it look easy on camera. We all know it wasn't fun lol
You gotta love the ten acres of space around That dogde motor.
Some time it's better to remove the right front wheel to get better access to belts and accessories.
coolant dumped right on the ground…nice
Was that a 318 engine? Those things were built indestructible!
You should have eyeballs on the end of your fingers๐๐
On a typical rotor/pad change, are you cleaning off and re lubing the slide pins? Iโm just curious how other people handle these jobs.
Love you Ernest, been watching for a while
As someone who grew up with three siblings and I being raised by a single mom, we were not quite poor, but not far from it. My Mom used to have a guy who worked out of his garage or friends shop or wherever he could. He also owned his own old beat up tow truck. He did all the work on my moms car for dirt cheap. Like I'm not sure he ever made a dime and most likely lost money. He always answered the phone when she needed a tow or a quick fix. I lived too far away to come home and fix her car whenever it needed it, but OV (That was what he went by) was always willing to help. Mom"s been gone for 2 years, 42 days and 17 hours and I wish I could track OV down to thank him. Been trying but he seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth. I just wanted to say thanks for what you do. You're a lifeline to some of these people that have no other option and you're there for them fixing what needs fixing in a timely and low cost manner as possible. You're a good guy Ernest and I'd like to think there are others out there doing the same. I'm a believer in Karma, you have good things coming
Would like to have seen how you dealt with gasket. How help in place when mating the new pump ? Details please not just before and after
