Labor ‘won’t back away from AUKUS at all’

The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says he believes the Labor government “won’t back away from AUKUS at all”.

“I’ve interviewed Anthony Albanese and Penny Wong and Richard Marles, and they’ve all reaffirmed their commitment to AUKUS in very strong ways.

Mr Sheridan said he thinks “Labor’s been very good on national security”.

  1. AUKUS is a waste of time, it just locks us into buying overpriced and underperforming US arms. The UK is done as a military power and certainly has no hope of projecting force into Asia, this is all about cementing our vassal status to the US. This whole evil Russia and China meme is a neocon scam to instill fear. Fools we are for falling for it.

  2. When are submarines that don't look like a sausage with a propeller going to appear? Do you remember sea quest dsv back in the 90s with the talking dolphin? Apparently that sucker could go 200 miles an hour, now that was a sub.

  3. Given the inflation going on right now the price of the nuke subs will probably double by the time they leave the dry dock. Politicians like to spend your money like there’s no tomorrow. Nothing makes you open your wallet faster than creating an imaginary enemy.
