Tonight’s whirling takes you on a journey through a beautiful, multi-layered sunset on terracotta. Inspired by the classic song “La Paloma,” this unique creation combines the warmth of layered acrylics and burnt finishes with touches of wood and metal. At high speed on the smiley face, the layers emulsified beautifully, resulting in colors blending, breaking, and melting to create a one-of-a-kind finish that celebrates peace and love.
Using 11 colors, the terracotta pot features a captivating pattern with varied layers – from the earthy base to the lively top, complete with large and small 🙂 stickers symbolizing joy and unity. The process includes a little surprise: while adding finishing touches, a United States Coast Guard prop plane flew overhead, catching my eye and leading me to pan up in awe – or, as I like to say, ‘Squirrel!’ – a moment of unexpected beauty in the sky that inspired this piece even further.
The final reveal of the sunset pot shows every step and layer coming together, delivering a vibrant tapestry of colors and textures that reflect both the warmth of terracotta and the depth of world peace.
