  1. Said all year, Kupp is overrated.

He's an Edleman/Welker type, will get first downs, is ultra reliable, and he benefited from Stafford tunnel vision last year.
1950 yds, 16 TDs. GREAT numbers. But on 145 receptions. That's 13 yds per reception, and 1 TD for every 10 catches.

Davante Adams? Was honestly the same. 12-13 yds per, 1 TD for 10 catches. And again, a QB that fixated on him for 25-33% of their offense. Both are studs, still no lie, but neither are game breakers like Hill or Chase, and both mostly wowed because they were force fed by their QB.

Now lets look at Ja'Marr Chase. only 81 receptions. And still got 1455 yds and 13 TDs. That's 18 yds per catch and a TD ever 6 receptions. So lets do the math… if Ja'Marr was force fed 145 receptions like Kupp? He would have had 2600 yards and 24 TDs.

And yet, projections tend to be bunk, and always tail off from expectations, but I do believe it would be safe to say a Hill or Chase would absolutely have dwarfed those numbers in the same circumstances. Kupp is no Randy Moss.

  2. One note on Mike McDaniel's defensiveness? He did just spend all week having people like Stephen A Smith shouting to the heavens he should be fired, etc. Would I have like more contrition? Sure. But I can also fully understand his defensiveness in the face of the judgements Shannon Sharpe, Smith, etc were handing down the MOMENT it happened. Especially considering like Mina said.. come Monday after the first hit, almost everyone took it at face value. Then Thursday night? A LOT of Hypocrisy. Miami does need the investigation. Reckless endangerment should cost jobs. But IMO Sharpe, Smith, etc? Just as reckless calling for people's livelihoods to be taken away. Where is THEIR accountability should McDaniel be cleared of wrongdoing? Why won't they be fired?
