Ah, Deathproof – one of the only Tarantino movies I can hardly get through because it so deeply disturbs me! I have terrible anxiety/ptsd with cars and with crazy people and this movie is a literal nightmare, it makes me sick!! Kurt Russel is so casually cruel and frightening, I have trouble looking at him in other films now without feeling an overwhelming sense of distrust lol also, until your reaction, I don't believe I ever even finished the movie, never getting beyond that scene where he reams into the car of girls. Said scene is exactly why I have neverrr again put my feet anywhere but the floor when in a car since I was first forced to watch this by a troubled ex 😂
50:22 – for modern (ish) car chase scenes, you have to watch "Ronin" with Robert De Niro. Probably more than half of the movie is car chase scenes!! Nice reaction guys. x
I was going to beg for Planet Terror next, but then I heard you guys are visiting the Basterds!!!! 🤪🤪🤪
Stuntman Mike drives a Chevy Nova in the first half of the movie and a Dodge Charger in the second half.
Zoe did all her stunts amd there was no CGI in the car chase, it was all practical
Same Universe as Pulp fiction 😅 "Big kahuna burgers"
That scream you’re talking about is called The Wilhelm Scream. It’s notorious for being randomly put in movie scenes. 😂
ICONIC
Keep it G guys you genuine good edit, react yall funny
I love how the ladys are crazier than the bad guy 😅😅😅
jungle julia is the worst thing about this movie
this is the proof that Tarantino could write amazing females characters
my favorite, justice for Death Proof
the cast, the soundtrack, photography… peak Tarantino
13:14 nah that's not the guy from heroes haha 😆 you're thinking of Zachary Quinto. the guy in this is Eli Roth… but yea they look alot alike
PLANET TERROR – go for it. 😉 🔥🔥
"Death Proof" was 1 of 2 movies that were created as a double feature (Grindhouse), by Tarantino and Rodriguez who worked hand-in-hand.
So you basically watched 50% of that double feature now. "Planet Terror" is the other half. 😉
Did kurt have the lens cap on while taking pictures?
Thank you guys I have had a lot of fun with your Quentin Tarantino journey I did enjoy this reaction Quentin Tarantino is my favorite movie director and I am a gigantic movie buff so I'm glad you are having fun I've watched your reservoir dogs pulp fiction Jackie Brown kill Bill 1 kill Bill 2 and now this reactions now I'm ready for y'all to get into my favorite movies which is all of the above and the last one is my favorite you guys are great I've been here for y'all's entire game of thrones journey I love you guys you are great also I'm from South Carolina so y'all hit home with a lot of stuff with me take it easy stay safe during this crazy weather
thanks to this movie I became a fan of zoe bell. not only she's a cool woman. she's a good actress awesome stunt woman. at first didint know she did stunts for the show Xena warrior princess.
Hate when they destroy classic cars.😪😁
Hope you also react to a movie Quentin starrs in, but is directed by his friend, Robert Rodriguez. "From Dusk till Dawn".
27:11 "Which one them happened?" They ALL happened…it was the same wreck from 4 different angles to show us the death of all 4 girls.
The boys?
This was just Tarantino having fun. And I had fun watching it. I was high on coke at the time when it first came out lol.
You guys should react to Planet Terror as well. These films came out as a double feature package to give homage to 1970s movies. Robert Rodriguez directed Planet Terror and it's a much better fun ride then this one, imho.
Ive always seen this and the movie that it showcased with when it came out as a double feature Planet Terror, as Rodrigues and Tarantino’s love song for B-movies. Because I think part of Tarantino’s genius is that he can take B-movie elements and elevate them into being respected as a part of the film, despite the lowbrow origins, which in this case is Tarantino’s love for 1970’s low budget exploitation films. It’s a Tarantino version of a crazy crappy 70s b-movie. Personally, it’s not one of my favorites, but I appreciate what he was trying to do, but I’m eager for you guys to get to Inglorious Bastards and Django.
When this movie came out in theaters as grindhouse it was a double feature "Death Proof" and "Planet Terror" back in the day there use to be 1 movie theater room and you would watch 2 movies 1 plus a 20 minute break for bathroom and snacks and then watch the second movie… im not to sure but i seem to remember these double features were with low budget or independent films thats why they only played them in small theaters.
PS Zoe the girl in pink on top of the car is actually a stunt girl/stunt double/actriz… she was double for Uma in Kill Bill, Xena Warrior Princess, Catwoman, Posidon, Inglorious Bastards, etc. she's a very remarkable woman.
I love this movie! Wasn’t into Terror planet that much this was totally up my alley😎
Welcone back to the Sheriff Earl McGraw multiverse. He is in Kill Bill and Dusk til Dawn and Planet Terror. His son Edgar is in most of the movies also.
Death Proof was the second of a two-parter movie called Grindhouse. Robert Rodriguez made the first part, and the second one was Death Proof. I remember actually seeing this in theaters, all though it didn't do too well since a 4 hour movie is a tough sell for most audience members. But they wanted to do it as a specific style like the grindhouse movie experiences of the past. Anyway, it's interesting that you mentioned that one girl looking like Uma Thurman, as her name is Zoe Bell and she actually IS the stunt-double for Uma Thurman in Kill Bill.
The craziest part about that whole car chase is just that it's all totally real when they're playing ship's mast. No CGI or any of that crap, just pure "holy crap I can't believe they're actually doing this."
As far as Grindhouse as a whole, the two-movie set isn't exactly worth watching imo. The first movie I can't even remember the name of, but I know after the first movie they did an "intermission" as that's how it was done with double-features, and during the intermission they had some of the most hilarious ads for fake movies. One specifically that I remember was with Danny Trejo and they were showing all sorts of hilarious/ridiculous things about this badass dude. I remember for whatever reason they were in the hospital and he used someone's umbilical cord to swing down another floor or something like that, just over-the-top ridiculous movies that are hilarious to imagine would be real.
But yeah, the fact that this was only part of the full movie is the reason it seems so odd compared to what one would expect from a film. It's supposed to be a bit cheesy with messed up reel cutting and such. So it was essentially just a fun project for Tarantino rather than his crazy masterpieces he comes up with. Although I'd say this is basically a masterpiece in the style it was designed to be, but yeah it just ends abruptly because that's how those movies were "back in my day."
Great choice guys
Quinten is great for many reasons. Storyline, music score, camera work, choice of actors, and pop culture references. Something for everyone and he never disapoints. His films will definitely stand the test of time.
Needed to watch Death Proof and Planet Terror back to back in that order. Quinten collaborated with Robert Rodriguez who directed Planet Terror. These movies were released as a double feature under the vintage name Grindhouse. A popular B-movie production company from 1960s and 70s. The characters spill back and forth from one movie to the next. Planet Terror being totally different though. A zombie movie. Rose Mggowan who was the blonde in the first film plays lead. Has a machine gun for a leg. Nurse in hospitial and the sheriff play same roles in both films. Genius collaboration.
With Inglorious Basterds Quentin upped his game by 1000%
