  1. I'm surprised they're so slow, and that could be a serious problem for them, but otherwise they look great. Maybe more of a midboard brawler against other melee units, but that's not exactly a bad thing for Tau.

Silly combo but you put the war shaper in three carnivore units, shoot at something with the long spear to get reroll hits and spend 1 cp for extra ap and then the three units of carnivores shoot each using the same strat for 0 CP and you have -4ap from any gun on something, good knight killing potential on basic kroot there

  3. A note, these guys don't need shooting or anything to activate the detachment buff, considering they do Mortal Wounds on the charge phase so the enemy will be below starting strength regardless(unless the target can shrug the wounds or tank them without losing a model)

  4. They don't need chip damage to trigger the detachment ability, line breakers is in the charge phase so that can trigger the +1 and +1 wound, you could mortal wound a vehicle below haft strength then get the +1 wound, you'll definitely want a unit of 6

  5. My question is how best to use the Lone Spear with these in the detachment.
    Having the plus one to hit takes a bit of a bite out of the lone spearr ability to mark targets. If your loan spear chips a unit, your rampagers are now hitting on twos, but then the unit is marked it's 2s re-rolling instead of 3s rerolling etc

  6. This is the equivalent of a human riding a large dumb human into battle. There’s not enough difference between them that makes sense to me.
    It’s not even the equivalent to a human riding a gorilla.
