I had another funny idea: Kratos, the accidental everchosen.
The chaos gods think he is a candidate due to the chaos (blades) energy around him, and start granting him gifts. Meanwhile, the actual everchosen is like "Guys? Why the sudden cut off!?"

With all honesty, despite being an imperium lover, I bet Khorne would actually send him home after he kills the emperor and saves Atreus. He has endless daemons and with the big E’s psychic energy destroyed he would likely reward him with a gateway home, he is the chaos god of honor after all.
