If you want to defeat the ABS so it never engages, just mount both sensors on the same ABS ring either front or rear. Both sensors will always be at the same speed and no one will die on a scary down hill because they forgot to turn it off.
None of these things are actually problems. Leave the ignition on on a jap or European dirt bike and see what happens? I bet it does the same thing if it’s got enough tech to even have a coolant warning light…
Maybe the overheating signal is just showing that the gauge is operational. The same as when you turn your car ignition on and all the warning lights are lit!
Three bikes give you a sample size of three. That increases your statistical confidence and/or reduces the time for adequate testing.
Alternatively, you can think of the total hours ridden as your sample size. Either way, you're after the mean time between failures (for your fleet or for each bike). From your description, you haven't had any Kove caused failures, you had two short-comings that should have been found and corrected during dealer prep, dealer test ride, and/or user preventive maintenance, checks, and services (aka PMCS). If you consider these rides to be the dealer test rides and your PMCS, then re-start the clock now.
What makes me laugh here the issues Otherthan the dash temp were caused by the technician 😂 and if this bike was a suzuki, honda , yamaha this video wouldn't be taking place , all because its Chinese, and we must find faults.
Disappointing click bate title because it was understood that in order for us to have this unique combination of a bike, that is competition only the factory had to go around certain DOT requirements to be able to register our bikes in all the states. Fuel issue was something that Gary did a video explaining a DIY solution that you should’ve done before ever leaving the garage after taking it out of the crate. Again this was something to go around regulation for homologation DOT workaround ABS there are a few ways to go around it most effective a specific fuse that you remove and don’t have to worry about it again but again it is that annoying because for regulations Overheating glitched is just that a glitched All the bike manufacturers, have their issues and corks without exception and they be making bikes for decades, this manufactures half almost unlimited budgets, R&D departments and million of previous customers, and for a brand new brand out of China with a relative small pocketbook, gave us theyso-called unicorn and push the rest of the competition to deliver. Good bikes of this type. And the script that you use for this video and my opinion was basically nitpicking known issues that are really not a problem because the solution it’s been out there for a while and not knowing the solution already doesn’t excuse you for bashing the bike or the brand . It sounds more complaining for something in return
You call those "problems"!!! Ahh….in my day, something had to explode out of the engine and remove a testicle to be called a "problem". Bah, you kids have gone soft… Should I reiterate how many feet of snow I had to walk to school, uphill, both ways in, when I was your age ???
That ABS annoyance is on my KTM 390 as well, super annoying, but it's not just Kove. I kinda wonder if it's a safety thing for the road? Not sure about the overheating, I never experienced that and I rode it in 100 plus degrees. As far as all these first year blips go, it's really not too bad. No engines are seizing or major issues. I can recall KTM and Beta having some major issues over the years. No bike is perfect of course, but I think Kove is on to something great and it's only going to get better.
Hey real quick… If you want to disable ABS easily, just pop the seat, open the fuse box, pull thr blue fuse, and it'll never bug you again. (Credit to @dirtbyk ) The blinking heat indicator is maybe like a "this bike is still on" warning? Kinda weird.
I have voiced my opinion about these china-land made bikes and their inherent Unreliability. Buyer BEWARE. These may be simple issues but I think after a year of riding, not only will the bike start suffering from major mechanical issues, but also experience a HUGE drop in resale value. Mark my words.
FWIW, my Triumph Tiger (and probably various other ADV bikes) has the same annoying reset to ABS on behavior with key off, so I stop it with the kill switch (and then forget that the kill switch is off), or just stall it and then know I'm not going to roll away. The coolant temp thing does seem to be a glitch. I wonder if it happens if you stall it instead of using the kill switch.
Always best to let someone else be the "early adopter" and find out that sum ting wong. Too many variable to judge quality over the short run. Metal quality, engineering, tolerances that might be bad won't be apparent right away. Look at some 50-year-old Hondas that still run well. The test of time tells the story.
I got a thread on gpx on a well known site. This is at least my 12th "import" I can report back after some mic measurements VS torque values concerning the forks. Keep up the dream..good job. Buy still a slapped together bike like any big 4 bike. But thus is gigh grad bikes and need high grade pdi and maintenance. Good job buddy
Well as someone that owns a Kove 450 but in Ontario though. I have had the same issues as you have, minor at best. The other issue I have had but user error was if the vent lines get kinked after refuelling you will get a low fuel indicator. The only complaint I have is the choppy throttle and lack of low end grunt, but I am coming from an enduro background. I was informed that there is an update that should fix the choppy throttle? Question though, Chuck said he removed two evaporators? I only saw one by the skid plate, where is the other one? Thanks

This bike is not an ENDURO, neither a DUAL sport bike. It is a nice cheap chinese copy of the KTM 450 RFR Rally bike. 🙂 Would be nice to see a comparison…
i only wish this was an hour longer 🙂 great stuff, thanks guys – informative, bad maths, dog fights, what's not to love?
I hope you will push Kove 450 even more in future.
33% of the time it works 66% of time🤣
I suspect the only real issues with the Kove's was all the Canadian beer.
So pretty much flawless. Signed KTM owner

You guys obviously like Honda? Why not get the 450L and put bigger tanks on them?
Bikes are cool, but I'm mostly here for the dogfighting. But seriously, you guys are doing the Lord's work. Thanks for all the testing and info!
Great channel 👍👍

So one issue. That's not bad.
I had problems with 30,000 new motorcycles, and AGREE , on a new bike before you ride it check every nut and bolt you can .
THats quality info and doggos!!! NAISE
PS> those WHS inserts are GOLD
No joke though the power went out when the ball dropped on 2000 XD

Chinese garbage, like everything else they make.
How many KM on them now Chuck/Dallas?

Well I definitely won’t be buying a Kove 450 lol, China has mountains to climb before convincing western markets that their shit is reliable
