  1. ….i don’t think this works with canon lol.

Love the idea, it’s just island doesn’t exist in reality. Pretty sure link was just drowning in the ocean. Then a god found him, the wind fish.

  2. 2D Zelda has amazing stories and Lore to them.

I hope we the Oracle Games remade in LA style.
    Ed:Hyrule Warriors one is great.

AOC was full of false marketing, broke my trust with Nintendo.

AOC is an insult to BOTW fans.
“Experience the events before BOTW” when in reality it’s a different universe, and events.

I would have bought AOC, if it actually lead into BOTW.

  3. in link's awakening,it was pretty much stated that the island itself and everything on it was a dream created by the windfish. which is why the bad guys try to stop you from waking it up,since they know that not only will the island go poof, but they will as well. we even see the entire island vanish in the end after the windfish wakes up. so there was no island. but to take koholint and imagine it as if it was a real place is still a good idea

  5. Despite personally not thinking the island actually exists, this is your massive project, and its wholesome how much love and peace you gain from this process, you make it your own and we are all excited to see where it goes

  6. 6:51 "You could imagine it exists on the Gameboy, but the artistic intent was that it was a more serious world"
HAVE YOU SEEN THE CONCEPT ART FOR LINK'S AWAKENING??? Oh my god, it's like some, high fantasy, like, you have GOT to look up Katsuya Terada's artwork.

  7. I like Zelda, I like people talking about Zelda, and I like watching people with more artistic talent than myself making things for Zelda, so… I really like this video. I think what you’re doing with this world is really cool, good job man.

  8. The island was real in the sense it existed while the Wind Fish was asleep. How long was the Fish asleep? Nobody knows. But its not Link awaking that made the island disappear, it was the Fish. The game says this. The island existed because you saw it disappear when you see Link floating on the piece of driftwood. If Link Awakening DX is anything to go by, the dream was GB top down style and the toy style, and the real world was the cutscenes anime style at the beginning and end of both games. All the people on the island were animals from the real world, some depicted as human/hylian, and some depicted as actual animals. This is show by the heavily implied imagery of the seagull being Marin. My interpretation anyway, based on whats said and shown in the game.

  9. “Hyrule is a peaceful place… well actually if you know your Zelda lore that isn’t true.” I’m not sure any main setting In a game is safe from evil, not just Hyrule.

Oh crap I better not make my house in any video games

  10. It's funny having an island in the unflooded part of wind waker. It makes sense but it reminds you that used to be sea level, and now sea level is really high, which also makes you think about spirit tracks "new hyrule" just being at crazy high elevation already. I don't know if it's ever explained in Spirit Tracks, but I like the idea of the The king of hyrule wishing for the flood, and the gods talking it over with themselves.

"We can't just flood the entire world just because you want your kingdom flooded. Do you realize the logistics of raising the sea level?"

Then them debating over methods like "we'll just raise a mountain range around hyrule and it'll be a giant bowl of water" or "portals, when they get out of the great sea they'll be teleported down to the real sea level and never know the difference" and so forth.

  11. Maybe Koholint is Eventide seen through the Wind Fish's memories. Like Link and the fish are both really there, but they're unconscious in a shared dream and it's the dream that we're seeing. Meanwhile throughout the reality of the game, the entire journey is just Link and a giant fish snoring loudly.
