The music expresses better than any words what it’s like to grow up in a place you never knew was cold and hard until you were lucky enough to make it out and get the perspective of age and distance. Something like nostalgia, melancholy, survivor’s guilt, and the lonely feeling of knowing not many people around you now really get it…that’s the price you pay.
