I've seen and manipulated several designs that follow this same principle, but can be printed in PLA (which allows for an excellent shining look of you use a silver silk variant) and without the need to later knit them, rather they are wholly PIP. I reckon you could make good use of those models for a more convincing look, although you would lose on the comfort and convenience of TPU.

  2. I've had a surprising amount of success with a print in place PLA "proper" chainmail design I found, probably on thingiverse. If I was able to that working so well with my crappy printer, I'm sure you'd have great results with that design on with yours.

  3. This is amazing for cosplay, etc. A group of people who enjoy crochet, or knit could make a lot of chainmail to resale. For say disabled people, elderly, etc. To sale to people who don't have time to make it.
