  1. This reminds me of an old mod for doom I do not remember the name there were like tornado guns and stuff for DOS, I have no idea how they made all that work back in the DOS days but they did.

  2. While the stylistic direction of this mod is nothing short of abhorrent,
    (alas), but the creative ability to think outside the box, put an effort and
    build all the "crazy stuff" relying on nothing but imagination, ingenuity and
    the thorough knowledge of the game – is the ultimate showcase of talent.
    And whoever built this – can singlehandedly replace the entire corporation
    known as "ID Software". Three times over and then some.
    I salute to this mod-making master.

  3. The title "Knee Deep in Knee Deep in ZDooM" is misleading because the source port required to run is NOT any ZDooM-family-tree source ports, instead it requires Vanilla-based source-ports like Eternity Engine or something.

    If anything it should be called "Knee Deep in DooM".

  4. You know, on a closer look I think what impresses me the most is how they managed to make items and pickups have sprite rotations! Can you even pull that off with Dehacked? I suppose it's done through Dehacked black magic but it feels like it should be totally impossible in vanilla.

  5. I'd love to see someone add features to the Doom engine and do a demake of other games. Or if it would be easier to start from scratch, make a new engine that runs on old hardware and do demakes with it.

    I wanted to play KDIZD with la tailor girl mod in past but found certain things incompatable that break it. (Chaingun sprite with big hairy juggernaut arms not suit my cute robot waifu protagonist)

    This is just what the doctor ordered.

  7. i don't get what this wad is for, the people who use vanilla ports will never play this because they have infinitely better choices, while the people who want modern flair can't play this on a modern source port like they normally do.
    Just a "look at how much hacks we can cram in vanilla doom 2" tech demo?

  8. As someone who frequents vanilla compatible WADs, KDiKDiZD might be THE most visually impressive vanilla WADs I've ever seen. Seeing the things I saw in that WAD might've been one of the most dizzyingly amazing feats ever in Doom mapping. I hope this can serve as the basis for a new generation of innovative vanilla WADs that push the boundaries of legacy gaming.
