KLM Says “GOODBYE” to the 787 and turning to A350! Here’s Why
The national airline of the Netherlands – KLM was founded in 19 19, and is the oldest airline on earth. The airline has a long history dating back to World War 2, the post-war period and the jet aircraft boom. Until now, this is still an important bridge connecting Europe with other regions of the world. This delicious piece of cake always makes both Boeing and Airbus compete to bring the plane into KLM’s fleet.
KLM Says “GOODBYE” to the 787 and turning to A350! Here’s Why
And until now, Boeing has absolutely dominated almost the entire airline fleet. As a result, when news broke that KLM wanted to upgrade its long-haul fleet, people believed they would continue to choose Boeing aircraft, specifically the 7 8 7. But surprisingly they decided to choose Airbus A3 50 instead. So what’s going on? Why does KLM build its future fleet based on Airbus? Let’s find out!
KLM’s background
KLM Says “GOODBYE” to the 787 and turning to A350! Here’s Why
First about the history of KLM, as mentioned above The airline was founded in 19 19 and in 2004 KLM joined SkyTeam, an international airline alliance. The same year, the airline was acquired by Air France to create Air France – KLM, one of the world’s largest air carriers. But it is different from some other recent airline mergers such as those of two US airlines, United Continental and Delta Northwest.

Me personaly I flew both many times, A350 is a KING !!!!!! following A380……………!!!!
whats up with the AI voice…
Boeing appears to be in trouble
So this choice is somewhat logical in more ways than one
Therefore the scene is awkward with losing such a big contract…
One presumes the situation will remain fluid as new factors emerge… but Airbus seems to be ahead, herein, for the moment
We live in interesting times as Russia being at war also complicates air travel routes tremendously…
The saga continues❗️

Here's why: DUH!
Bottom line: Corporate greed.
The 787 was not even an improvement on the 777. So it is completely logical that KLM looked again and discovered a far superior plane in the A350. Well done on getting rid of bad rubbish.
What on earth are you talking about? There’s a direct flight from London Heathrow to Perth, Australia on Boing 787. Try to do it on A350…
this video is so misinformed
The problem with this airliner they never know make decisions
Cause Air France makes the decision.
Air Canada is moving towards 100% airbus so that every reference to their planes will include “Eh”
The A350 seems so spaceish when you get on it compared to B777 I have never been on a B787 so I don't know how it compares.
Boeing quality is a disgrace.
Sad. Straight up sad. Boeing just can’t get their shit together. KLM will definitely reap the benefits. What’s sad as well is that KLM/Air France are own but shareholders and yet they’re able to sustain a valuable reputation with having Airbus in they’re fleet. Just saying
What a bullshit video. Get your facts straight.
Airbus A350 is far more technological and safer! Good move
The competition for A350 is 77X not 787-10, especially for the range and capacity
1. Both South America and South Africa are within the range of the 787-10. Maybe not Amsterdam–Santiago nonstop, but that's currently flown with a stop in Buenos Aires (on a 787-9) anyway. The Far East with the current detours over South Asia or Alaska is a good reason to skip the 787-10, yes, but not South America and South Africa.
2. Both KLM and Air France ALREADY have large fleets of 787s (in the case of KLM, including the 787-10), not to mention even larger fleets of older 777s. What will happen to those planes in the mid- to long-term? Will they be passed on or retained along the new A350s? Plus, even the smaller A350-900 is significantly larger than the 787-9 and caters to a different market. These are questions that the video didn't approach and should have.
I’m lucky to live in Europe where I rarely have to fly in a Boeing plane.
Airbus has had several crashes that were the result of its fly by wire systems and a bunch of close misses. Don't kid yourself.
I think as for now, The A350~900 & The 1000 Range are much Higher In Demand, compared to the B787~Range of Planes. However, Things may Change once The Much Anticipated B 777~X Planes Start Coming Into ACTION & I am really looking forward to that Day!!!!!
A350❤👍🫶
The A350 is by far the best plane I've been on in terms of comfort
KLM already has 787-10s in the fleet so its an odd choice to already replace them?! I just rode a KLM 787-10 in March from AMS to SFO. Are the cancelling the rest of their order or have they already gotten all the 787-10s they ordered?
This is false information! KLM isn’t retiring its 787 fleet. KLM has ordered the a320neo familie aswell as the A350 because Boeing has a lot of problems. The A320neo is just a more logically option than the 737MAX.
KLM is going to replace its 777-200 fleet as they are getting too old. The A350 will be the prosecutor of the old 777-200
The only Airline buying Boeing planes is Ryanair. They are getting them dirt cheap by airplane prices. Says a lot about Ryanair.
