Very hot take, revelations and shaolin shuffle are top 5 maps of all time. People hate the Easter eggs because of the randomness and complication but I love it just because of that. Not to mention infinite warfares amazing mechanics, as well as the creativity and side Easter eggs.
Hot take. DE is the 4th best map on black ops 3. Nothing original or challenging about it. Buildable straight from multiplayer, just a regular switch for power and PaP, regular box, easily the worst intro cutscene in b03, and yes the bows are cool but make the map way too easy and are not unique. Most redeeming factor of the map is it’s amazing EE. The map is 7/10 for me. I have shadows 1 gorod 2 and zns 3.
Call of the Dead had one of the best one-time characters having actual actors and actress play them self is funny and good and fits with the map perfectly
Hot take: if the rayguns mark 2 and 3 had infinite damage upon pack-a-punch in BO3, they would not have gotten power crept by AATs
Hot take kino suck & it's the worst map ever
U can't change my mind
5:09 I actually disagree a lot there. I think looking up a guide completely butchers the fun of Gauntlets. I'll try to explain.
Gauntlets to me felt like a challenge that went beyond the game itself. You were supposed to play, fail, and try again with the new knowledge you just acquired. Maybe you try to ingrain each round into your mind, or maybe you're the type to write down the rounds in a spreadsheet. Either way, playing, failing early on, and trying again WAS the gameplay loop of Gauntlets. It mimics the feeling of WaW Zombies days, where each new run you could get maybe 1 or 2 rounds higher, mixed with the unpredictability of something like a roguelike, but not randomized, rather it's a tailored experience.
Now, if the quality of the gauntlets itself was bad, like the examples you showed sound iffy at best, that's entirely a different story, but them being unpredictable and able to completely destroy your run on a first try? I think that's completely fine, if not actually good for the mode.
Here's my hot take
Forsaken is a high B or low A tier and belongs with the good maps
Here's my hot take, Perkaholic is incredibly overrated most of the time you typically only ever want one extra perk. There's very few maps where I want anything more than jug, speed, tap, revive and widows.
HOT TAKES .
out of all the maps dead of the night is definitely the most overhated of all time. The wonder weapon for me is top 5 wonder weapons of all time and the Easter egg is fun and enjoyable. The only downsides to the map would be the characters are kinda lame and the big werwolf as the boss is a lazy idea but the boss fight is still really fun (on solo). And like you said in the video most people didn't play it at all or either they didn't give the game a chance which sucks as we probably would've gotten more content in bo4's life cycle.
also origins Easter egg ending ruins the whole Easter egg for me, you spend all this time doing stuff like upgrading everything in the map and gaining all this ultimate power to get to the final step and kill like 30 zombies and that's it. very anticlimactic ending to a good Easter egg. I don't ever go back and complete this Easter egg and rarely ever play origins.
also tag der toten boss fight music is the best music in the whole series
Bro said Blood is better than Mob, that is a hot take, but everyone has their opinion. Great video chief
Die rise is the only map I go back and play on bo2 because it’s actually a challenging experience and is the only way to play those mechanics with a fresh feel. Played the other bo2 maps so many times it’s boring now.
Hot take: revelations is a top 5 map. Its easy if you get setup but if u get bad box luck it's actually quite hard with all the boss zombies (and if you don't use op gums). There's so much to do, setup is easy but not too easy, the flow of the map is great and it's super fun and beautiful map. It's chaotic fun yet did nostalgia really well too.
I started playing zombies on Kino der Toten in 2010. There’s no way you think kino is underrated 😂. You wanna talk underrated? Dead of the Night is underrated.
Kino is so overrated, when I hop on bo3 it’s at least 25% of people on that map alone, that goes to show that map is overrated and way too easy. Also my friend used to always say “let’s play kino” every time we played zombies, never once have I enjoyed sitting there and spinning till I get the thundergun
Spicy ahhh take. A lot of old zombies main quests are terribly designed because a lot of the steps (looking at you BO3 and BO4) since a lot of them lack any real logical sense in the maps story. Oh and steps that require you to use an outside source (I.e valve step in gorod) are the worst
If you pick up the max ammo before everyone reloads, you have no integrity. I dont care what round it is, don’t be that guy!! 14:53
Hot take: all of bo1-2 cast are horrible. Operators are better and have more character tbh
I think Der Eisendrache probably has the best easter egg, it's steps just seem logical and the boss fight was so sick.
Factual take, the BO3 super fans that complain that every new zombies game doesn't exactly resemble BO3 have nobody to blame but themselves. They had games that resembled BO3 like BO4 and IW and a lot of them hated on it and didn't support it and let it fail. And also lukewarm take, BO1 > BO3. Every map is good to great and has the best variety in terms of difficulty and map design.
Gauntlet is peak. Your just bad
Buried is the best 😁
Hot take: the Origins “it was all a dream ending” doomed the zombies story and the blops 3 story of a magic man with tentacle gods summoning bugs and aliens and smashing universes together is laughably bad. I’d rather the story go the route Cold War (and waw) went where it’s simply, nazi makes zombies, zombies break out, kill the zombies. All we need is more memorable characters and I’d be satisfied
Hot take: Blacks Ops 4 perk system was actually good. For example, yes we had no jug or double tap but the perk diversity was soooo good. My favorite perk combo was electric cherry in 4th slot, with ethereal razor, staminup, and zombshell. There were so many diffferent ways to utilize the perks in BO4 and I feel like 99% of the time it gets majorly overlooked.
May be a pretty hot take, but while I liked the experience of Motd, I thought it was a bad zombie’s map, it didn’t really feel different from Die Rise with the Verticality, it felt too cramped and well duh it is a prison, but I would’ve appreciated it more if there was atleast one huge open area besides the golden gate bridge, within the prison
The wave gun is better than the thundergun. Quite literally, it has more ammo, you can reload mid clip, way more range, plus instakills with the dual wield, and the ability to instantly swap to the combined version
6:56 damn its almost as if it's a challenging mode
