CREATE A BOLD STATEMENT WITH PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE! Watch the creation of this installation that speaks to our ever-changing lives and the dichotomy between creation and loss. “Planned obsolescence” was the overarching theme of this project. The object was to create art and purposefully destroy it for it to then be repurposed. To achieve this goal we created hand-blown rondel and exploded them with torches, we then used these broken pieces to create mosaic forms that moved throughout the steel waves. The river of glass and steel captures the movement of water, as well its destructive nature and inherent grace.
