We need to make sure our kids are aware of the dangers and also that they know they can call us for anything. My daughter will call or text me if something is fishy. She knows not all friends are trustworthy to make sure she’s safe.. been showing her these videos for years/track them too!!

Wow. Sorry, I feel for the mother, I really do. None of us are perfect parents, but according to this information, the mother has treated her daughter as a friend. Not as her daughter. She's been drinking, with mother's knowledge, since at least fifteen; according to this.

Your child does not have the ability to comprehend the dangers they are in, THAT IS YOUR JOB AS THEIR FIDUCIARIES.
Your child is NOT YOUR FRIEND, YOUR SPOUSE, YOUR COWORKER, no matter how mature you feel they are. Your job is to question every single outing they want to make, my nearly eighteen year old son would never be allowed to go anywhere like this, much less my 16 year old.
Have honest conversations with your kids about safe sex, alcohol and drug use, staying aware of their surroundings and who they're with. You cannot expect other inebriated teens to consistently protect YOUR inebriated teenager. I'm just blown away by this…

The best friend didn’t look too concerned. I find that very strange. If my best friend is drunk and can’t drive I’m going to keep tabs on my girl. Not saying the best friend is responsible but you never know. Girls that age are so damn vicious.

I feel just awful for her parents. I can't even imagine what they're going through. Parents please always keep an eye on your kids and make sure they are at safe places. It's ok to be strict and say no to your kids. Who cares if they get mad at you. You aren't meant to always be their friend and don't ever think it can't happen to you. I pray they can find and bring her back home safely.
