  1. Weren't the Soviets running ships across the Pacific? If Japanese torpedo boats could have have attacked the 2d Pacific Squadron off Britain, would the Soviets have requested protection from German submarines in the Pacific?

  2. 1:29:00 – doesn't the Destroyers for Bases agreement and the commonality of ships being used to hunt U-Boats make a missed ID and German attack on a USN ship… a lot more likely? Was this an understood risk at the time?

  3. 1:55:00 – I know Nuremberg hadn't happened yet, but as far as shouldering responsibility and such, what were the expectations of Japanese senior military and political leadership vis a vis their personal survival post-surrender?
