It has taken a while, but I finally finished my goodbye video to Kevin Conroy. This was extremely difficult to make and really hurt. #kevinconroy #batman #dc

  1. As of right now, WB has about 6 copyright claims on my Kevin Conroy video, despite very careful editing and the fact that it's protected by fair use commentary. I'm not going to hackjob the video, so I will be disputing it, since they are now running ads on the video. Also worth mentioning I poured over 10 hours into this tribute to Kevin and I did it just to do it. I worked for free, and you don't see me trying to sell shit in it. But them? No no no. Very important to make that cash. It's really ridiculous. IF I win the dispute, the money ends up redistributed, and I'm just going to give it to people in need. I have a section of my money, despite being in debt because I'm an idiot, that I give away to people who need it more than I do (homeless, charity, etc)

  2. I was in my late 20s when BTAS dropped, so Conroy wasn't the voice of my childhood, but this one has hit me almost as hard as Bernard Cribbins (the voice of British childhood for most of us kids of the 70s) earlier this year.

  3. Conroy was my Batman, he is the portrayal that changed me from casual fan to absolute adoring the character. I played the Arkham games and was absolutely blown away, more so than every Batman adaptation I saw up to that point. There were some points where knowing I could play Batman Arkham and hear Kevin’s breathtaking voice was what got me through the school day, he has touched my life and many others.

Thank you for bringing a legendary character to life

  4. 32:43 Only badly written Batmen are like that. With well written ones he's right when he's right and called out when he's wrong and his flaws are acknowledged. Good writers understand that he's a normal human man who can only do as much as one and aren't fanboys who write him as being able to evenly match Superman and Darkseid. He has difficulty showing his emotions but he does have them so people who write him as completely cold and emotionless miss the point.

  5. I'm so glad we got to see Kevin bring that voice to live action in Crisis On Infinite Earths. Rest well, Kevin. You left so very much of your work for us to enjoy for decades to come, and no one alive will ever come close to filling your cowl.

  6. 43:35 In the I Am The Night episode he even tells Alfred he's tired of his war on crime being never ending and when Gordon gets shot he feels so guilty for not being there he's ready to give up until he finds out the shooter broke out of jail to kill Jim.

  7. I have to say, when I first came across his death on my Facebook feed, I had to search for him on Google, but I did have a gut feeling he was the animated Batman. Even though there's been so many versions of Batman so far, I will say Kevin Conroy's Batman is my favourite. Alongside Mark Hamill as my favourite Joker. It goes to show the impact the animated show had on us 90s kids. Both 1989 and the Dark Knight are my 2 favourite versions of the live action Batman and Joker. Although, I find it hard to work out which one I should rank as my second favourite and third favourite, but the animated version of Batman will always be my favourite 😃

  9. To me he is such a important figure, because through him i was able to learn English in my childhood. That made me search for more about him and the process of voice acting, all the nuances of it. By that point, he had became one of the people that a most admired, as a result of his efforts on his crafting.
