Kentucky Agates! – Mail Time and Future Projects

I got an interesting parcel of really cool looking agates from Kentucky to get polished up. I’m hoping to get these done before too long because I think they will turn out amazing!
There was also a little something extra for myself! πŸ˜€

  1. Your spoiling us with all these unboxing's (I'll say it again,, we could develope a game out of this somehow.. lol). ETA.. Had a buddy tell me that he was experimenting with something called "Dip-It" (for like tool handle rubberrizing) for masking sensitive 'hard surface areas' while working close and not wanting to chance a mistake. He did not say what the material was he was masking, but tossing it out there. Happy New Years to you and the family!

  2. Dude excellent! I have a nice KY agate I traded for last year… probably one of my first projects with the grinder this spring. I have a theory that the KY agate deposit is actually fairly large and extends into Tennessee and Missouri. The red and yellow banded stuff is just eastern KY but I think some of the plume agate nodules I find are related. There's identical plume agate in Kentucky I've seen anyway and the husk on the nodules is also nearly identical. I think I even found one of these nodules in Illinois! I can't wait to see what's inside! My friend Cherrie found one that was a spectacular geode with pink plume agate inside when I cut it. Very different from the typical Kentucky agate but I think it's related and most of it is kind of meh but… some are absolutely stunning inside! I'll stop rambling LOL you struck a nerve. This is very much on my radar! Can't wait to see you work with some of this!

  3. What amazing bunch of kentucky agates! they are going to be spectacular! Ive seen GCC-tyler polish many kentucky agates on his channel and the colors do go all the way through. And those are some really beautiful ones. I think you would be better off to dissolve the calcite away, and expose the drusy quartz underneath. Its a beautiful! What a fabulous unboxing. And those are spectacular examples of kentucky agate!
