  1. I generally agree with what Simms is saying, but if Wilson and Fields bomb and Pickett ends up having success a few years down the road, this take is going to age like milk in the sun…

  2. I hope Pickett does well in Philadelphia. He didn't do much in Pittsburgh stat wise. But he did win in close games. The biggest mistake the Steelers made was keeping Canada around. He is not a bad guy. But he sure have been gone after the 2022-23 season.

All that said, looking forward to seeing Wilson play for Tomlin. I think Fields can grow backing up Wilson for a season or two. Queen is going to really take this defense to another level. So if the Offense can stay on the field, we should have a top five defense.

This draft, we need a Center, a CB, a WR, and a Tackle. This should be a really good team in the toughest division in the league.

    Here we go Steelers.

  3. At the end of the season, Tomlin made it clear there would be competition for these starting positions before next season starts. No way Pickett should have thought the starting job was his, regardless of who the other QB's in the room are. Pickett showed who he is, and I'm glad he's gone. Good for Khan and Rooney for saying, "NO MORE"! Time for massive change.

  4. Yeah, the Steelers got rid of their first round QB from two years ago. In return they grab a 9-time Pro-Bowler, and another first-round QB in Fields…..all for about $4.5 million. Perfect opportunity to draft one of those 'possible gems' QB's late in the draft this year.

  5. Kenny just lost his max contract opportunity. When you get drafted, a team will allow you to improve. Wilson will be on his third team in 3 years with a veteran's minimum one-year contract. You were the favorite, the team knows you, you know the system better than Russell and you get an opportunity to see how a MVP QB prepares for the NFL. Guess who will be put in if Wilson doesn't do well? SPOILER alert: You. Who will be re-signed even if they aren't world beaters and Wilson will be 39 by then? You. Who will get a chance to get better without the pressures to the starter and an opportunity to LOOK like a franchise QB and a good teammate by being a mature adult? I guess not you…

  6. As much as NFL teams put into scouting not just the player’s skills and talent, but also their psychological analysis. Along with all of the dozens of in depth interviews with the team prior to the draft, how could the Steelers have missed on finding out about Pickett’s selfish personality trait??

  7. Well said gentlemen. I'm a long time Steelers fan and from the first round of the draft, I thought they made a mistake drafting Pickett. It was quite refreshing to see how this off season has gone done. I've been a Russell Wilson fan since he came into the league, so to have him in Pittsburgh is so awesome!

  8. I think the Steelers recognized that their defense is peaking with the players they have and they don't have time to figure out if Pickett is the guy or not. By that time, Watt, Minkah, etc.. will be past their prime

  9. FINALLY! The Steelers got some draft picks trading a player, Pickett, they knew was very disgruntled and would go Free Agent without getting ANYTHING for him like Antonio Brown and Leveon Bell did when Colbert was GM. DRAFT PICKS MATTER!

  10. I give the Steelers credit for admitting to themselves, that Pickett is not, and will never be, The Guy. As far as you're saying it was a win for the Eagles also, wait and see what happens if Clipboard Kenny is forced into a starting role. Can you say, BUST?
