  1. A shop (or cafe) is either open or it's closed. If it's open then it should sell drinks, and if it's closed then it's closed. But as a customer, it is FUCKING ANNOYING when staff start clearing up, stacking tables, etc, 15 or 30 minutes or so before closing. If you don't want customers 30 minutes before closing, then DON'T STAY OPEN. Close the cafe and THEN clean up. But saying that you're open when you're not is simply BAD CUSTOMER RELATIONS.

  2. I wonder if that first story couldn't have also gone after her for hate crimes, since she was deliberately targeting a disabled person. Presumably, the car was parked in the handicapped spot, but without a doubt she knew he was deaf. A lot of those cars are also modified to accommodate disabilities, so she got off lucky IMO.

  3. Packages story: I decided I wanted to buy an Amazon Echo Dot (Alexa) with all the bells and whistles. I got a notification it was delivered to my porch. I live in a sketchy part of town and my neighbors were known porch pirates. I got back from work and wonder of wonders, my package was gone. I contacted Amazon Customer Service and got a refund. They also blacklisted the electronics. If the porch pirates tried to connect the Alexa to Wi-Fi it would burn out and turn it into a hockey puck. Anyway, I waited till Cyber Monday and got a better deal on another one. I had it delivered on my day off. Now Alexa and I are best friends.

  4. Last Christmas, I received many packages that were nothing more than an empty box or padded envelope. I noticed that items shipped through the USPS were the ones missing. I filed 4 complaints, 2 of which were in person with the postmaster. He said the packages were scanned as delivered to my address therefore any theft afterwards was out of their control. I argued that the postman handed me packages that were missing the contents and they had only passed through the USPS. Not just once, but 3, then 4 times in a month. Since the packages were scanned as delivered at my address w/GPS confirming, there was nothing that could be done. I had no recourse because the USPS stood by that I “received” the package. Didn’t matter that the contents were missing, according to them, it was delivered. I will never use the USPS again.

  5. The coffee shop story is horrible! Op needs to be fired. I can not understand how OP can be proud of cheating a customer no matter the circumstance. It shows just how immature OP is. I hope OP knows about karma. I feel bad for the owner who wants to give good service only to have an employee who is more interested in revenge for having to work a few minutes longer.

  6. Any food service business that expects employees to leave at the same time they close is ran by idiots. You can't leave the equipment dirty over night and if they expect you to serve someone walking up at 2 till close then your going to run over serving them then need to clean up after serving them.

  7. first story is fake – why would he 'sign' to the Karen? He lost his hearing in the army, not his ability to speak. Also – spelling 'center' as 'centre' (english spelling rather than american) when he's at a Walmart – which is only in the USA ? This doesn't stand up to scrutiny….

The Op friend met coworker I can't give opinion because the Op left out vital info about the relationship between them the last 2 years in between the Christmas celebrations because the sister in-law did not all of a sudden get upset not being invited to Christmas dinner I have a lot of questions a lot about this post makes no sense

  9. Now if they steal it off of our porch it’s grounds for an ass kicking I have no time or patients for porch pirates, but if it was a mixup then they should be able to read the address on the label and bring it to the right place if they done and open it instead then I will have them charged with the felony and theft due to them knowing they didn’t have any packages scheduled to be delivered to them

  10. Yta. You close at 9. Why did you clean that machine so early? You either need to have them state on the sign certain items are not available after a certain times or tell your bosses you will need to leave later to clean the machine once no longer needed. But being open but stating ppl cannot get anything is false advertisement in a sense. Do your job and make the drink.

  11. S2: I would be having a conversation with what ever authorities needed to get the addressing issues resolved. (Postal service, local government, etc.)

  12. Easy cure for porch pirates. I have a cat. I save empty packages from work. Load said boxes with used litter, and whatever needs disposed of from the fridge. Then place on the porch when I leave for work. After 3-4 boxes were hauled off by pirates, no more issues. The last box had 2 or 3 days in July to ferment. 😛

  13. From the story it appears that the Karen used a Stun Gun, not a Taser. A Stun Gun is pressed against the body. A Taser is 'Shot' into an aggressor. The leads are attached to the gun with wires

  14. In Poland (EU) in most cases delivery guy has to give package to a person. No leaving at the doorway. Quite often reciving needs to be signed. And lately package machines are more popular and convienient. So no "porch pirates" there.

  15. Story 2: Just the other day I received an email from eBay that a package had been delivered. I searched my mailbox, searched the bushes checked the neighbors' front steps. Nothing. I called the local US Post office. The first time 10 rings and nobody picked up. Tried minutes later and a woman picked up the call. I explained and she argued with me. Said she doesn't know anything about emails from eBay and cut me off. I got mad and demanded a supervisor. She replied that she was the post master. I eventually communicated to her the tracking number, which she found. Said the carrier was done for the day but someone would look for it. About an hour later, a nice guy knocked at the door holding the package.
I can understand a delivery error but attitudes from management, are intolerable.

  18. God forbid that someone asks you to do your job during the time you are paid to do your job. That's just horrible.
And then she has the nerve to pay you with legal tender and what thought was a take a penny leave a penny.
Glad you ruined and possibly poisoned their drinks. Making your employer, who pays your checks look bad.
You should feel so happy that you stood up for your hurt feelings and snowflakes everywhere.

  19. Story 1: Karen thought that it was okay to assault and Taze a deaf person…gets community service. Then uses a deadly weapon on OP and their car. Pays for the car in full.
Story 2: The lame ass excuse "I didn't know it was yours" can always be retorted with "But you sure as hell knew they were NOT YOURS!"
