  1. Cannot blame Jaby for not feeling those wow moments. It's too much to ask from a non natives to relate to culture and tradition and get immersed in the experience. Probably we Indians should stop asking for reaction to culture specific movies like Kantara.

  2. Jaby – Sincere advice, review Kantara again with open mind. Right from beginning you are grim faced even not smiling in comic scenes & nil facial reaction to any scenes. Achara was totally opposite, was natural & enjoying the movie. Reviewing a good movie is a great responsibility. Casual attitude is unacceptable. Lot of ground work & info collection needs to be done in advance.

Not expecting a 10/10 rating from you but be fair, practical & genuine. Review with open mind.

  3. Achara Kirk is more Indian than "Indians" out here in understanding nuances and innuendos that only a true Indian who grew up with this rooted culture would understand. Thank you Achara for this!

  4. Siva died in that fight but thr demigod took control of his body and punish the landlord and give some time to siva so he can make baby so siva died in that fight so he didn't have that much time so he performed a last bhootkala and disappear with his father.

  5. You are missing something. if you didnt have a visceral reaction in last 20 minutes. It may be because you have not seen it in a theater where the sound and video create an incredible effect or it may be because you are seeing this movie as an outsider not as someone who have lived in such traditional releigious societies and therefore lack the context.

Those who grew up in India and watched this movie were literally shaken by his varaharoopam performance towards the end. It's as if you felt touched by God.

I think such experience is missing from this reaction, that's why the discussion revolves around technical aspects of the movie.

This movie took indian cinema to a new height of storytelling, it's a game changer. Going forward the bar is set so high that the days of cheesy "masala" movies are over. Indian movie watchers will now expect movies with solid plotlines, novelty and artistic expression and language simply isn't a barrier anymore.

Kantara has ushered a new era in indian cinema!

  6. Jabbe's review sounds like "bandar 🐒 kya jannae addrak ka swad 👅'.He has no clue about our culture that is why he didn't feel the gravity of the situation. But can't blame him also. He hasn't seen a lot of things. He hasn't seen the other half of the planet.

  7. For those who missed it. The character shown in the last and the boy are the ones who's voice you hear in the introduction. The whole movie is actually the man telling this legend to his son.

The burning bush moment happens when after the hut fight shiva chases the boar into the forest. The demigod speaks to him in the moonlight. That's the demigod speaking

  8. It's sad to think that people see this as a movie targeted to tribal. This is how we lived before and nothing else better if you live like this.

Hinduism is more regional than the world portrays or in fact we portray.

I don't know about other states but in Andhra, I grew up between goddesses like sathemma, bapanamma, poleramma, chukkalamma etc. as our protectors and their brother veerbhadra is the one who cleans up the mess similar to guliga.

It's a simple contract among the villagers. These protectors will protect you from forces as long as we adhere to nature rules and control our arishadvargas.

I have seen such possessions and always get goosebumps. And that ritual in movie just invigorated my past and I connected immediately. Climax was just bone chilling experience to me. Best thing I did was that i watched alone. Divine experience.
    Shuddhayyanu!!

  9. I feel devastated watching this video i feel loss of hope for trusting them to hear their review to see their reactions anymore
You guys never ever notice small things in the movie which will help you to connect the dotts but rather you want World-class Action from a mythical movie ( which has been made under 16Cr budget) Look you guys are not intentionally doing it i know but stop reacting Movies related to our roots/Traditions/Mythical things . Let it stay with uss Because its nearly impossible for you guys to gain genuine interest in it and Try Not to find logic in it .
    Thanks for all the entertainment
