Two sad facts…
1. This was the last movie of the legendary Paul Newman before he passed.
2. If you look up the career of Richard Petty, who was the King in this movie (and IRL was nicknamed "King Richard") the crash that ended his career was almost perfectly recreated in this movie.
11:14 😂😂😂
30:25 Do it do it do it do it.
33:50 😂 She is a station wagon. They don't make them anymore. Basically, it's an extended hatchback.
You should watch Doc Hollywood. Cars is basically the same plot. It's also a good movie.
25:29 it's from true accident in same year and same car with same racer number.
Fun fact. The #95 for Lightning McQueen was used in tribute to the first Pixar movie Toy Story, which came out in 1995.
Honestly, I always found this movie very endearing and relaxing didn't get all the hate when the Internet was into that
I was seven by the way
Something tells me Jen would LOVE the Blue Collar Comedy Tour
My kids loved Planes. I thought Planes 2 was better than Cars 2. It didn't feel like it got the marketing to really succeed though. Would have really liked to see a Planes 3
@HoldenHardman yall should watch Days of Thunder before talladega nights , days shows the early 90s late 80s rough and business side of Nascar Jen will understand it more
THE best ever disney movie. The story is great, the characters are great, the animation is amazing, the colors are great, I love this movie. The others in the franchise though? Not so much. 2 felt like a spinoff, 3 felt like a lousy way to close off the franchise imo. But it all comes full circle with the third movie. McQueen probably did what Storm did to McQueen in the third movie, when McQueen himself debuted in the first film.
Fun fact: HARV, McQueens manager, was played by Jeremy Clarkson in the UK version of Cars. It's always strange when I see the American version.
I know others have said it before, but the universe of Cars is the Earth in the future AFTER Skynet won…
Cars isn’t everybody’s favourite but there’s no denying the popularity. To this day the merch sells like crazy
This is my favourite pixar movie of all time because of nostalgia
Saw a race in bristol. Stood on the track and the bank angle is nuts. You have to try to stand up straight lol. Btw you do feel a nascar race, even with muffs on
Please go back to this type of movie Disney
This movie was stacked with talent.
27:15 candy apple red
This is like the one Pixar movie I just can't connect with
that our town scene still gets me every time
No your not missing much watching it live I is cool and all but I'm ok with seeing it once. But I've never been much of a sports guy funny enough I know about sports but never been into it I guess because my brothers.
And doing it never good at it but it was fun.
Tennis was fun. Never good but it was fun.
And considering it's not reality and good luck with the dush and cheif again sorry you left an opening.
Holden… my dude… so hard to watch this one. I love CARS and you missing all the Easter eggs, then being so ignorant of cars in general and NASCAR…. it was rough to watch sir.
28:08 the agent's voice is Ari Gold from Entourage
I’m 57 and just teared up on this again. I have 4 kids and all of them ended up watching this hundreds of times. Hell we had SO MANY cars from this (by the way they’re just slightly larger than matchbox which was a pita). Had the town as well – each building etc. we ended up giving them all away 4 years ago before we sold the house, got an RV and hit the road with 3 of the kids for 2 years.
Even after hundreds of watched I love this movie. Though could be Stockholm syndrome.
Ka-Chow
Cars 2 is a forgettable movie, you can even skip it. But don't miss out on Cars 3. It's really amazing.
My favorite movie . Lighting McQueen is different character by the end of the movie lol
Asking please for Madagascar for jen. Love you 😊
I love that they got legendary comedian George Carlin to play Fillmore
When Lightning McQueen said "KA-CHOW!!" he's really saying something about our society.
"No, no, he didn't slam you, he didn't bump you, he didn't nudge you… he rubbed you. And rubbin, son, is racin'.
I find it is a common occurrence that younger audiences (I’m referring to you guys in comparison to my age, not children) assume that what they have been trained to perceive as “better” must be what everyone was attempting at the time that “better” thing emerged.
In fact, the animation of Ice Age was not trying to match Pixar in the CGI arena but more hand crafted animation but using cgi rather than hand drawing.
The art was very stylised with a lot of exaggerated proportions etc that would have clashed with the realism of the Pixar high quality CG aesthetic.
Very similar to how movies with faster pacing of the modern era are not “better” than those with the slower pacing of the previous and if a movie with slower pacing comes out today it should not be assumed they got the pacing wrong, just that they didn’t do the modern “I have the attention span of a goldfish” thing.
Im glad you caught the flashing joke. That was so funny seeing grown up.
The route 66 scene is actually based on the sad history of the real route 66. It was actually a huge major highway back in the day. It did eventually did get bypassed by the interstate "just to save 10 minutes". Because route 66 ran through a lot of the small towns are frozen in time from like the 50's.
Holden & Jen
Voice of the "King" is Richard Petty aka The King of NASCAR, who 1st won NASCAR's Championships 7 times. Late great Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jimmie Johnson tied with King Richard with 7 Championships. I his career, Richard won 200 races.
His Trucker is the guy who plays Cliff from the TV show (Cheers) he also plays Hamm in (Toy Story)
Have you guys Not seen Cheech & Chong because Cheech is voicing Ramone the purple lowrider/painter
If you noticed what you kept calling the little cars "Flys" were actually Bugs as in Volkswagen Bugs
33:48 I think Mrs. The King is a Chevy Malibu station wagon. It’s a! 8-cylinder beast of a car, I learned to drive on one.
I'm not saying this is true in this case, but there comes a point where I have a hard time believing people haven't seen certain movies. So many movie reaction channels and they are all hitting the popular movies, like the music channels will hit the same music at the same time. I'm sure in the next few weeks, a lot of movie channels will be reacting to Cars.
