  1. Fun fact, cybertronians are biomechanical bota, meaning they aren't just robots, they are alive, parts of them are grown with them and cannot be replaced, they can physically get stronger or weaker. Basically just normal people made of metal

  2. 17:18 It's not shown in this reaction but the way Sentinel told Arachnid to send them to his "special chambers" actually fooled me too.

Watching this masterpiece for the first time, I knew he was a bastard since he's always depicted as one in any continuity, but I actually thought this was legit.

Then I realized how Sentinel's casual attitude isn't a mask, he is always this carefree ALL the time which we see later. The fact he seems so hospitable while simultaneously being the worst piece of scrap ever? PEAK way of portraying a villain.

  3. I saw somewhere that it's weird how Bumblebee knew about things that weren't common knowledge, but then I remembered WHERE we meet him; same place Orion and D were sent after inspiring the other miners

Then there's how Sentinel addresses him after they're captured, compared to D-16 who blatantly wants to kill him, Sentinel LOATHES B!

The subtext in this film is so masterful!

  4. While D-16 does get more ambitious for power, I love that he starts his turn BEFORE he gets a T-cog

The cog doesn't start his descent, he was already there after seeing Sentinel bow to the Quintessons, the cog just gave him the power to change his world.

Before they get captured, it looks like D MIGHT have some restraint in his convictions when he's cut off from finishing what he was saying to Orion. However, Starscream's ideology of "one bot's strength over another" resonated with him strongly. After that, he was far less willing to hear anyone's input.

Orion's "death" supposedly for Sentinel's life, the life of someone who dictated their existence before they were born, was the last straw that sent him over the edge.

  5. One thing I love is the juxtaposed meanings of Optimus and Megatron's rise and fall

In stories based on or closer to humans, falling usually means a descent into hell, while rising usually means heaven.

Here? It's the opposite. Primus is literally the core, and Orion obviously falls down to it near the end half-dead, while D-16 stays up at the highest point depicted on screen while tearing through Sentinel's troopers and Sentinel himself.

Who else is usually depicted to be LITERALLY above Cybertron? Unicron.

I feel like there's a better way to say this, but this is the quickest way I could put it. This film is so masterful!

  6. The jump @ 51:37 was a callback to the 1987 animated movie. Optimus did the same pose when the Decepticons invaded Autobot City and he mowed a few down as a truck, transformed, jumped, and blasted several more. It was the same pose.

  7. "I think he honestly would have been fine had he just let him shoot him."

Do you really believe that? The dude about to blow Sentinel's brains out not for justice, but for his own satisfaction, revenge, and personal gain? Sure, let's let him just blindly execute the guy without anyone else's judgement. Surely no one's judgement is needed besides Megatron's. See how that sounds?

  9. Orion was trying to save D from becoming the next Sentinel, Orion already won because IF Sentinel lived he would be thrown out of Iacon and have to run from the Quintessons with no help from any Cybertronians, but he got the easy out by D who became the next Sentinel and waged war on the Autobots which would lead to them leaving there planet to find a new home.

  10. I liked bumble bee better when he didn't talk😶… and Pre Cog Optimus was really annoying as well. Megatron too. He complained everytime Pax did something he didn't like but followed and enabled his activities. Overall the movie was good especially the second half but definitely marketed towards toddlers – 15 year olds clearly. It would've been a bit better if the tone was similar to the new X-men 97 animated series.
