Just a Second: Parents share reality of drink drive car crash

**WARNING: This video does contain footage from a fatal collision, and some people may find this distressing.**

Phoebe Johnson was less than two weeks away from her 18th birthday when her life was tragically cut short in a horrific crash in a car driven by a young woman who was well over the drink drive limit.

Melissa Keilloh, who was 19 at the time, lost control of her red Seat Leon while speeding along country lanes on the A514 between Stanton-by-Bridge and Ticknall in October 2021.

Shocking footage of the crash was captured on Keilloh’s own dashcam, which was played in court where she pleaded guilty to causing death through careless driving while over the legal drink-drive limit.

Keilloh was jailed for three years following at Derby Crown Court on Tuesday 17 January this year.
Phoebe’s parents, Nicola and Paul Johnson, have spoken to us about the events of that night and have given permission for us to share footage from the dashcam.

We hope that their story will help us show just what the reality of reckless behaviour behind the wheel can lead to.

It’s part of our Just a Second campaign- where we would urge you to take a second to make the decision not to drink and drive.

It just isn’t worth the risk.
