I think this franchise just needs to be retired for now. Jurassic Park, as a franchise, already solidified itself in the current zeitgeist, so Universal should just keep maintenance of its presence through toys and other minor media outlets, like video games. This may sound biased, but I am so wary of excessive milking and commercialization of franchise a la personal lackluster experience with the Bayverse Transformers and Marvel/DC superhero extravaganza.
I can't help but think that the Greg you mentioned is the Greg from Succession. "Errr yeah sure Tom….so what it needs like, dinosaurs on and stuff?"
I think, the one reason why Universal isn't just throwing everything out there, is because of the shit that's happening in the world of cinema at the moment.
– Marvel is flailing about
– Star Wars is as good as dead at this point
– Disney itself is in a bad spot
– There's cutbacks everywhere
– the Writer-strike
– The scandals.
I think what Universal is doing, by not giving out tons of content has a lot to do with prudence, and controlled releases. They're not flooding the market, so that when the next JP-project gets properly announced and released, it's a real event, similar to the release of Jurassic World (not it's sequels).
I think it's also to do with the lackluster reception that Fallen Kingdom and Dominion got, and the final seasons of CC, that Universal is careful with selecting the direction to take their next installments.
You have to keep in mind that Steven Spielberg is still heavily involved in the franchise, and he's seen what happened to Star Wars after George sold it off. I think Spielberg himself is pretty influential in keeping the Jurassic franchise on the rails, so to speak.
Spielberg is one of those "veterans" if you will, of the movie-world, and can easily named in the same line as James Cameron and Guillermo Del Toro (I probably butchered that name, but it gets the message across). These are people who deeply care for their movies, and want to make sure that it doesn't suffer the same fate as the Disney's Midas finger. (yes, the people get rich, but the product is not suitable for consumption anymore)

Yeah true,they should be selling well made toys like the kenner toy line,or updating Jurassic world evolution with the features and mechanics of Jurassic park operation genesis, or maybe new sculpture like the sick triceratops,the t rex hunting gallimimus,the velocitaptors in the long grass, or a toy set of the bird cage for the pteranodons in Jurassic park 3, and if they planned on more Jurassic sequel,it has to be peter Jackson to direct it ,he made the 2095 king kong movie a success so why not Jurassic park?, Or a spin off movie of what if Jurassic park became successful ? Or maybe marketable plushie's like the velociraptor big one plushie,or a huge hugguble brachiosaurus plushie,or a roberta/ rext plushie wearing the "when dinosaurs ruled the world" like a scraf ,please universal bring back the wonder and joy of the anniversary of Jurassic park for everyone to experience it with their families and friends.
I thought that they'd be a dlc for jwe2 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of jurassic park it would be based on the novel and we'd get dinosaurs and skin variants.
This is horrible to say, but I genuinely feel like Universal couldn't care less about the franchise.
I hoped theyd make a big update in jwe2 like making sauropods have the ability to fight lik using their tails their weight etc

I think I would prefer that they bring back the franchise in an era when there’s a bit more creativity, and writing skill in Hollywood.

I feel like the best thing they could do for the Jurassic franchise is to let it die. Jurassic World Dominion was such a disappointment that I feel the best thing to do is let it end.
Now, if you want to continue to milk this cash cow, and of course they are, here's what to do: either HARD RESET and make a brand new Jurassic Park movie that more closely follows the books. Or, go the Star Wars Andor/ Mandolorian route and have a show that takes place in the world but has nothing to do with the story of the films. For example, I would be interested in a show about how Masarani extracted dinosaurs from Isla Sorna for Jurassic World, or a show about dinosaurs out in the world and how people are dealing with that (you know like they teased for Dominion and then never delivered on)

Jurassic is probably dying out universal needs new fresh revenue for their parks like the new Nintendo land and world that will attract a lot of people and that movie made a billion dollars fast so they know where to shift their attention to and remove old outdated areas of park that is not doing well anymore and Poseidon ride closed and fans want Zelda to take its place also they want to expand Harry Potter some more. Jurassic park and its ride and other stuff been around a very long time and people want something new built to entertain them and not go back to the same ol stuff. Plus universal cant expand their park with all houses apartments and hotels surrounding them so something has to go.

There was no effort done whatsoever. Like at minimum share news about the movie going into cinemas again or open a tribute store at the capital of every country where Universal is present in, which could be promoted by making some TRex suit videos recorded in every city go viral. But instead there was a void of nothing, both for the general public and the fans

Ngl but for me id be more than happy for JW to disappear, as a HUGEEE JP fan the JW movies really destroyed my hope for this franchise especially dominion, it was god awful, I really think they need to take a minute and fully rethink and make some prequel JP movies for the us, the ones who grew up with JP instead of making films for kids around now, give me a site B prequel movie 😭😭 !!

a movie/series that takes place before JW and shows how isla nublar was taken back from the dinosaurs
a series about dinosaurs on the mainland wreacking havoc and having to be stopped (live action or animated)
anything relating to sorna

Honestly Jurassic Park 3D was more successful than the 30 year anniversary. Honestly if they released it again in theaters for the anniversary, it would produce so much because the fan base is that huge and the movie is still incredible.
Hmm. My city did it well. Brickman's lego exhibit opened, it was back in cinemas, the exclusive stockist of the hammond collection figures got a big wave. I don't really understand the idea behind announcing something is in development so far ahead of time. We are just getting over the momumental dissatisfaction that was Dominion. The dust has barely settled.
I think they released a new Lego game for jurrassic world I could be wrong though
