  2. I really hope Juno isn't a Superman situation (sent to earth without fully understanding the dire situation, while the people on Mars are doomed) but rather a scout just trying to reestablish contact.

I am super curious about the Mars colony… I wonder what the vibes are, considering Lucheng was so shady. I also wonder why contact was lost.

  3. I really wish Overwatch's official website had an official timeline page. I think a lot of players miss out on the lore because the lore is ver inaccessible/hard to find. Thank you for making these lore videoes btw! They are always very well put together!

  4. I actually like That were being given the different parts of the OverWatch world with OverWatch. 2. Not just what's going on with omic crisis. Not just with what's going on with talon and OverWatch but every other organization like Vishkar, junkertown, the mysterious EYE with three dots and now luchang!! And from what Yur saying, even the moon colony is getting more news.

    I Imagine a team full of Winston's and Hammonds😳😳

Also, Juno as a character is possibly bringing overwatch to a cosmic perspective. I'd imagine Juno has MAYBE seen extraterrestrial Life other then humans!!!

Overwatch cud expand their world to not just omnics vs humans, humans vs humans, but earth vs the galaxy.

Yes I am looking into the future with this I KNO
But with Juno now comes the option of having life outside of earth!!!

Side note, do u think the gorillas are making an economy up their on the moon. Similar to junkertown. I'm very much so invested!!

  5. My timeline of Juno's life basically goes that her mom and mei used to be pretty close friends prior to hoing their individual ways, with Juno having been very young at the time when moving to march.

One guess i have is that Juno's mom would eventually presume that Mei was dead when she didn't get contacted by her so she countinued with her life on Mars until news about Overwatch's return reached Mars, revealing Mei tp be alive and well. Wanting to astablish contact as fast as possible Juno ended up taking the pod to earth due to her mom's older age

  6. When talking about whether Mei is actually the Auntie of Juno I have to agree that calling someone an aunt doesn’t mean they’re actually related. I’m not of Asian descent but I have a few Aunts and an Uncle that aren’t actually related by blood but are close friends of my family.

  7. my 3 theories:
    1. Mars in under attack by either another corporation, or by the apes from Horizon (Dyson the orangutan figured shit out). That's the main reason why Juno came with a pistol that already has enemy detection when she landed (that could just be for the trailer tho). The next tank could be from that enemy faction (no evidence, but it's fun to speculate)

    2. Mars may have gone through a resource crisis, maybe a dust storm got too strong and wrecked necessary functions, and Juno is sent to Earth to acquire new parts that Mei is knowledgeable in.

    3. THE ALIENS ARE COMING, THE ALIENS ARE COMING!

  8. About Juno and Mei's relationship, I think some people forget about long-distance communication. If Juno's mother was Mei's close friend, even in the Martian colony they could've kept in touch through "phone", leading to Juno knowing Mei this way as well, maybe some holographic facetime or such. Which would be understandable since both Mei and Juno were stationed in very secluded areas with little variety of the people they interact with.

  9. It should also be noted that Mei and Jiayi knowing each other in grad school does not mean they were in the same year. If Jiayi did a two-year master's program and then started a doctorate, and she met Mei in what was Jiayi's final year and Mei's first, Mei could've been 21-22 while Jiayi was 27-28. If Jiayi changed fields between graduate programs, that could add extra time; yes that's a thing that happens, as I know a few people from my own grad school years who changed fields between bachelor's and master's/doctorate programs, or who already had two prior graduate degrees in other fields.

Also, are we certain that Mei and Jiayi were both graduate students at the time? Mei could've been a grad student while Jiayi was a post-doc (an academic researcher who has their PhD but has not yet obtained a professorship or industry position), a senior lab technician, or even a junior professor, and Mei would still have known her "from grad school".

  10. I'm weirdly not a fan of this being the first hero without an established ethnicity. It kind of feels like a wokeaphobic cop out. If she was born and raised on mars that's fine, but surely her parents / grandparents could represent a european nation that hasn't been repped yet in the roster. Otherwise juno will quickly come off as a cute waifu with no character or identity and that's not Overwatch's vibe.

  11. In South America (at least in Chile), kids usually call most close adults uncles or aunts. For example, if you go to a friends house you'd call their father "tío" and their mother "tía". That's also the way kids call their teachers in elementary school.

  12. She evens says we have little oxygen to breath
Like what, it's actual pure oxygen that you can breath like the rest of us. Unless it's different kind of oxygen that's she's so used to in mars

  13. Potential spoilers for Juno's backstory (Please skip ahead if you don't wish to be spoiled):
This comes from an Overwatch content creator from Taiwan, who has/had been an official caster for Overwatch Pro League scene, so there is some credibility to that I suppose.

Juno was the first human to be borned on Mars. Juno's mom (most likely Jiayi) was an old acquaintance of Mei, both being the world's top scientists. After the Horizon Lunar Colony has been established, Jiayi participated in the next step towards outer space colonization, that being the Mars Colony. The starting phase of the Mars Colony was smooth, and Juno's birth was an extra blessing. Having grown up in space, she inherited the pioneering spirits of the those surrounding her, and drove towards becoming a navigator. Even though the scientists all had their own tasks to complete, they would make sure to give Juno the best childhood she could have had.
However, building the Mars Colony did not come without a cost. The action caused severe damage to the area and dust storms began to emerge. Its severity rendered the area almost uninhabitable. They tried to establish a connection with Lucheng, but were not granted a response. The second group of participants they expected to come also, in fact, did not arrive. Without an end in sight, the scientists on Mars searched for other ways to call out for help. After analyzing all resources at hand, they realize they can only send one single person back to Earth safely. All the scientists decided to give the privilege to Juno. Saddened, Juno was sent away from home to ask for help back on Earth. Her target, her mom's old acquiantance and esteemed scientist, Mei.

The snippets of voice lines we've heard in the trial weekend pretty much line up with this story so I think this source is highly believable.
I'm not sure if linking the original video would get this comment deleted. If it wouldn't, please lemme know in the comments.
