  1. > This wasn't your fault, I promise

Oof, as someone from a country with a huge history of neighbours reporting on neighbours and condemning them to severe punishment, I am not a fan of this decision. But this is your playthrough.

  2. @26:20 yes a Drow is an elf. There are a ridiculously large amount of types of Elves in DnD lore. Some might argue there are too many types of Elves lol.

@28:06 Shadar-Kai worship the goddess known as the Raven Queen. She's cool. And yes you very much can suffer after death. Death is not the end in the lore and everyone in the setting knows it. As for the Shadowfell its another plane of existence, like how the Nine Hell's are another plane of existence.

Thats why almost everyone worships/serves a God or some other powerful entity. There are many beings that can mess with the soul of others.

@44:11 there are spells that can keep working indefinitely even without concentration. The spell continual flame is one of them. Its not a spell you can use in the game but its a spell you can use in DnD.

  3. From what I read up, He Who Was is part of a offshoot of elves called the shadar-kai who are devoted to someone called the Raven Queen, a goddess of death from the Shadowfell.

From the sound of it he's spent too long in the cursed lands and gone mad, only caring about punishing the guilty, regardless of their remorse.

  4. Re: Wyll's Hex: when you already cast it once, you want to reapply it to a new enemy using the rightmost icon on that bar. If you use the "regular" icon from Wyll's spell list, you'll be casting a new spell and wasting a spell slot 🙂

  5. 29:12 If you want to know what punishment you can give her (spoiler alert):

You can tell her to do to herself what was done to her friends, so she start stabbing herself. But since it's the elf's body she's stabbing, he is still not happy with your choice, which is hilarious!

  6. I always look forward to each new installment of this series of yours! A highlight truly, every uneven day I'm refreshing my youtube for your video to show up. I really like that you get into the lore. I really wonder how Ketherrick became immortal and how you're supposed to circumvent it. I think finding Balthazar, and what he was searching for, will be key in the unraveling (as i think you've already surmised lol). I saw someone in the comments that there was a puzzle to be solved in Balthazar's study. Maybe clues could be gleaned there?
    Keep up the good work!!

  7. I find it amusing that Welonz continously assumes that the death is the end in this setting, despite the fact that she was literally in Hell in prologue and got confirmation that "yes, there is very much afterlife and yes, you can suffer in the afterlife"

  8. In DND the afterlife is very real and very obviously real because of magic and spirits and gods and all that. In fact, people who choose to be “atheist” get punished very hard when they die because they didn’t pick a god. So everyone should pick a god (or devil) to follow and follow their rules.

  9. It is too dark to Wyll because he is human, and doesn't have darkvision as a racial trait. Wellens, as a drow, has 24m of seeing in the dark due to superior darkvision (not really due to the torch, but the torch does help Wyll to see at least something). Shadowheart and Karlach also have darkvision (normal one, up to 12m). But Wyll, Gale, Lae'zel – can't see crap in the dark, because they don't have darkvision. As a warlock, Wyll can actually pick "Devil's Sight" as one of the eldritch invocations, that allows not only seeing 24m in the dark, but also seeing in and through magical darkness, which is quite unique. There are some spells and potions, and even some items, that allow seeing in the dark and last until long rest.

11:28 The one that is mentioned in Thisobald's journal that you've read, who wanted to talk to the authorities at Baldur's Gate after Thisobald told her everything about Thorms (unless he gave her money, thus the extortion), and Thisobald thought how she would fit in barrels nicely.

16:50 To be fair, nothing to do with pathfinding, lol, you just ran into a whole in the roof and fell down, which is almost impossible to do with point and click :). But, even in terms of pathfinding, it never had any damage avoidance, if you run through the fire – you run through the fire, regardless of point and click or WASD ;). It is what it is.

24:55 Maybe because he wanted to bring those to the Raven Queen in Shadowfell, as he is a Shadar-Kai, and we read about them and the Raven Queen in some previous EP, I think. That's my guess, but it certainly wasn't just some "quest for justice" thing, and more of a "feeding" on the misery.

39:57 You really don't want to be ambushed by these guys, garroted and teleported all around the battlefield without even taking a turn, it could be a nasty fight. Good thing you ambushed them. As far as mechanics and abilities go, plenty of them are unique to the creatures and specific one time encounter.

58:06 Doesn't really paint Harpers as all the good organization, does it? Tortured some person to death without any proof of them being an actual spy

  10. Luminous Gloves is quite broken paired with Luminous armor if you still have it. Give it to Shadowheart and just use Spirit guardians or any radiant attack and your enemies hit by it is pretty much blind and dumb.

My Tav: Let's take a Long Rest
Gale: My feet and knees hurt a little
    My Tav: Long Rest
Karlach: I got a bit of dust on my clothes 😀
    My Tav: Long Rest
Shadowheart: I use a single level 1 spell slot
My simp Tav: Long Rest for my Goddess! Long Rest I say! \(`0´)/

  12. 28:52 I once made a Shadar-Kai character who was a butler of the Raven Queen. In his story he got framed for giving her a poisoned meal that made her forget herself and unravel. I never finished that campaign so I used that character in another campaign that I run as an NPC who had tried to find a cure for the Queen but died so now he’s a ghost training one of my players who is a halfling paladin of the Raven Queen so she might succeed where he failed.

  13. 50:05 Enemies are probably getting harder (AC getting higher, maybe) or especific condition of this enemy. Higher DEX is usually the first answer to get better chances to hit with your RANGED attacks (unless it's a fireball or something alike), but there are other ways to remedy other than just dex…

I think BG3 doesn't have Elven Accuracy (lets you reroll a dice of a attack roll),
but clerics have Bless, and other classes have True Strike (it's a cantrip, costs 1 action, you get advantage at attacks at next turn). (Guidance doesn't count for attack, only for ability checks)

Rogues have a free feature at 3th level called Steady Aim.

Aaaaand clerics also have Spirit Guardian, Light clerics get Fireball. Shadowheart is not a light cleric but she has Pass without Trace.

  14. Welonz, all those items that say they lower saving throws or attacks are per turn. So each stack of the debuff is a turn. So for example if any enemy has 4 turns (stacks) of radiating orb they get -1 per stack for -4 total. It's the same with reverberation items. Read the tooltip!

  15. You can use shadowheart's sacred flame rather than firebolt. It has a higher chance to hit cause it uses WIS for its DC rather than INT for the firebolt's spell attack. Its also a cantrip so it wont use any slots
