  1. I've never been a big Josh Groban fan. I always thought he was painfully self conscious. But casting him as Sweeney Todd was a stroke of genius. I've seen a lot of productions of the play, and I would love to see him perform this.
It's tempting to say this was Sondheim's his greatest achievement, But then other works start begging for attention.
If I may indulge in a short anecdote— A friend and I saw the original production of Passion. It was a respected flop.
As we left the theater I turned to him and said, "Brad, we could have seen Cats."
My friend replied, " It is important to have seen this… And to never have seen "Cats."

  2. Sweeney Todd is creepy, I saw it because of Jersey Girl. The Johnny Depp version, the Dougie howser musical stage version on DVD and the musical at the Andriene Arsht, that was enough for me. The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. Don't shave your enemies, you may have to feed them to unknowing cannibals.
