Joni Eareckson Tada | Perseverance in Suffering | S5:E11

After becoming a quadriplegic at seventeen, Joni thought a lot about the topic of suffering. If God is loving, why is there suffering? When bad things happen, who’s behind themβ€”God or the devil? Joni considers these questions and more on this episode of the Joni and Friends Ministry Podcast.

Joni’s Book book, Songs of Suffering, includes some of Joni’s favorite Scripture passages and hymns for hard times.

  1. WOW!!! Thank you Joni 😊 I so needed to hear this today. I woke up and tuned into YouTube seeking something from God to help me get up and going and your message was the first thing I saw πŸŽ‰ God knows I was having doubts about promises I had made to Him about plans for this week so He once again used your faith to bolster mine! πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ that you have a Blessed Day!

  2. Oh Joni, I so needed to hear this! I have allowed my focus on chronic pain and some loss of mobility to deter me from getting up and showing up in many instances. You have reminded me that it's all for Jesus and I need to be in the thick of the battle with you, armed with His strength and armour! See you there! πŸ™β€οΈ

  3. My dad went from a strong and athletic man to now being deathly underweight and depressingly weak. He has lung cancer and doesn't yet know Jesus. I asked him who he thinks Jesus is, and he asked me what I think about what scientists say. He also said that he has listened to Billy Graham and loves him. He needs Jesus to be in his heart. I also ask for prayer for his physical body.😒

  4. In the throes of today’s suddenly ramped-up pain, with my brain herniating and slumping out of my skull, yet knowing I’m called to encourage other suffering sisters in Christ in ministry? I was so β€œdis-couraged” and God knew I needed this beautiful and specific reminder. Thank you, Joni and all your team of friends! πŸ™πŸΌβ€οΈ

  5. My brother in law has wrecked his motorcycle and broke his back. He went through surgery and they put a back brace on him. He can't feel his legs and 😒he doesn't know Jesus. So whoever will, pray for his salvation. I will be joining you on the battlefield all you who struggle with disabilities. I have some issues with anemia and pain and havevto ride a cart to shop but I also know its a hard road that leads to life.

  6. God bless you sweet Joni. This has been one of the most powerful messages I have ever heard spoken. You are that inspiration to me, and to so very many, many others. Much love to you dear Joni. You are to me, that burning bush, that is not consumed, that I, for so many years, have looked to, in amazement, and found such comfort, and encouragement in, along life's journey. You, Joni, are my Hero. Much love, your sister, in Christ Jesus, from here in Tennessee πŸ™πŸ•Šβ€
