It is clear to me that they meant for Finn to fall in love with Rey but then changed it for whatever reason so it just comes off weird.
I kinda hate musicals, so I had no intention to go and watch this one (also, no need for a sequel). However, if it was something dark and twisted (you know, being Joker and Harley) like Sweeney Todd, I bet a lot of people would have loved it. And I'd had given it a chance.
