  1. I loved that the Kiners used the Clone Wars theme over the closing credits instead of the Rebels theme. Chopper banging on the shuttle wall to get the shuttle working made me laugh.

  2. This episode meant so much to me when it released. This was when we never knew another Clone Wars season would come so having its successor honor the previous show like this felt so good.

Love the exploration of Rex's PTSD and Kalani is a character I really hope to see again someday. I like to think he changed his mind about the Rebellion following Yavin and decided to align himself with the Alliance.

  3. One of my favorite story tropes, is when the heroes come across remnants from the previous war, who are still fighting and advancing. To see Clones join the rebellion is awesome. To see Clones and Droids join forces is even better…But to have the Droids join the rebellion would have definitely been S tear.

  4. I'm probably not going to be the only person to point this out, but the Super Commander Droid in this episode was from the Onderon Arc of the Clone Wars, which introduced Saw Gerrera and showed him getting trained by the Jedi and Rex.

  5. The thing about gen 1 (phase 1) armor being tougher than phase 2 is cannon and there is a reason. Phase 1 was designed by Kaminoan armor smiths who had a loose understanding of human anatomy, besides the tweaks by Jango Fett himself to make it more faithful to Mandalorian styles it was never reengineered. All this meant it was tough but also heavy and uncomfortable and even limited movement like sitting and standing back up (was nicknamed “body bucket” by the clones who wore it) phase two was a direct result of all the issues with phase 1. Phase two was lighter, allowed for greater range of motion, was better at withstanding harsh environments and chemicals, and was highly modular but all this meant it had to be slightly less resistant to blaster bolts. ( this is why stormtrooper armor “sucks” its just not built to tank a shot it’s built to keep you alive by dispersing energy resulting in unconsciousness when hit but this means it effectively useless against kinetic strikes)

  6. I love how this ep is like 5 seconds away from unearthing Palpatines whole plot. It's wild, also Kelani returning from Clone Wars was great, they need to bring him back in like the Mando movie or something.

  7. It is too bad you never saw TCW because this is the same Super Tactical Droid that was occupying Onderon, home of Saw Garera’s resistance Cell and arguably the birthplace of the rebellion. And he has a name Kalani.

  8. "Based on 132 battles I have reviewed."

The Clone Wars series had 133 episodes, including the then-unannounced 7th season episodes. They may have been counting a 2-parter in Season 1 as one episode (since that was how it aired originally) to get 132. Either way, this was likely our first hint that Season 7 was in development (even though this episode aired a year or two before Season 7 was publicly announced).

  9. I really love this episode. I'll also add (to make sure you know I am a massive nerd) that Command Droid was Kalani who actually was in the Clone Wars series and not just made up for this episode…. so both sides were led by true veterans. This just made it all the more powerful in the message.

  10. One of my absolute favorite episodes of Rebels. A true love letter to the Clone Wars (which, at the time, was not getting a seventh season as we'd have to wait for Rebels to end before even hearing that announcement).

I won't lie…there's not proof of it but I honestly feel like this episode got made (or at least released) the moment Disney finally had full control of the Clone Wars show from Cartoon Network (who helped make the first 6 seasons).

  11. So I should probably look it up first and this statement is to be taken with all the salt you can fit in your mouth, but I believe the reason there's no sound in space isn't because sound can't travel in space, but because there's practically nothing for the sound to bounce off of.

Upon looking it up, you can now swallow that salt. Though I was… Half right?

There IS practically nothing in space (practically, a true, philosophical nothing is impossible), which means there isn't enough air molecues to carry the sound forward. It has nothing to do with whether or not there are physical objects the soundwaves can bounce off of. Unless you consider air molecules to be physical, which is sorta true, considering they do cause friction when we move through them.

Though, theoretically speaking, if there was a pocket of space that did have a high concentration of air molecules, you would be able to hear things. But you also wouldn't be able to move through it as easily as in other parts of space.
