Can tier 2 mba students land consulting roles at McKinsey?
Your link is not working. For the course
Mckinsey paying 3L for 2 months??? Non consulting companies used to pay 3L for 2 months 7 yrs ago. I remember BCG paid around 6L for 2 months. She is underselling Mckinsey. Nevertheless making it to MBB is a big achievement.
If you get to work for us. We pay you nothing 👎
First of all, u are selling a far-fetched dream that only 1% of the junta will achieve. It is like preparing for swimming to win a gold medal in the Olympics. Here is the truth about consulting. Only people from premier education background IIT/NIT/SRCC/LRM + IIM ABC will qualify for interviews and a mere 10% will get offers. so people with average background, poor communication skills, or from non-branded college top consulting firms are just in dreams. of course, u can go to some average consulting firms or boutique firms but in truth, they do very less in strategy and more in operational execution. also the stress in consulting is not something people have experienced and there is an up or out culture means if you don't get promoted to the next level u will be fired. that's why u become a partner after 7-10 years as u have to consistently perform n get promoted every 2-3 yrs. i leave the rest to the wise junta to decide if consulting is their cup of tea. Lastly about me – I left consulting as a Principal(one level below partner) from Stratgey& and was a manager with KPMG earlier.
